If we can include performers and actors/actresses who didn't like a song or role given to them too...well, Tina Louise is the patron saint of this trope.
Petula Clark for awhile did not like the song "My Love" and would only perform it with a different tone than the original.
60s Britgirls seemed to have aversion to their Eurovision songs...Lulu was like this with Boom-Bang-A-Bang, and Sandie Shaw with Puppet on a String.

-Lars Ulrich frequently makes fun of how the drums sounded on St. Anger. Well, if everyone else is going to make fun of it, it's only fair he gets to, too.

It is absolutely bonkers that the last surviving cast member of Gilligan's Island is the one who wants the absolute least to do with it.

Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes has to be one of the Ur Examples. Also L. Frank Baum and the Oz books. Like Doyle and the Holmes books, the Oz books were the only thing that was making Baum money. So, while both tried to move on from their most beloved characters, the public wouldn't let them.

Stephen King doesn't like the Tommyknockers. It was one of the books written during his coke addiction so that might have something to do with it as well.

Anthony Burgess would grow to resent a Clockwork Orange due a degree, seeing as inferior to other works he did, and being pissed at Kubrick for going into seclusion after the movie's release in Britain, as it meant the former got stuck dealing with the controversy of the film. He seemed to get over it somewhat after writing and overseeing a stage adaptation that stuck closer to the book, but it was something that always bothered him.
While he obviously didn't outright create him, Harrison Ford is legendary for his indifference/dislike for Han Solo, coming back to do Force Awakens for the money and with the understanding that the character would be killed off.
Robert Crumb eventually hated Fritz the Cat (not helped by the Bakshi movie) and was put off about how the Keep on Truckin' cartoon got so big. Crumb in general was never thrilled about the hippie fandom that developed around his stuff especially given his aesthetic/music/cultural tastes are so fundamentally pre-1960s.

This one might be controversial, but Jim Henson and The Muppets.
Based on various stories, Henson wanted to move on from Kermit and the gang after The Muppet Movie. He wanted to work on his passion project, The Dark Crystal, but no studio was interested. They just wanted a second Muppet Movie.
And so The Great Muppet Caper was made, with the proceeds going to fund The Dark Crystal.
Dark Crystal bombs in theaters. Leading to no one wanting his follow-up, Labyrinth. Instead, wanting a third Muppet Movie.
And so The Muppets Take Manhattan was made, with the proceeds going to fund Labyrinth.
Labyrinth bombs in theaters. Henson doesn't want to make a fourth Muppet Movie. Tired of what he created, he begins talks to sell The Muppets to Disney and use that to fund his future projects.
As we know, Jim Henson died before the sale was finalized. One would wonder how Jim would feel knowing his legacy is The Muppets rather than anything else he did.

A bit related but didn't HP Lovecraft regret and resent the endings he wrote on The Dunwich Horror and Shadow Over Innsmouth?

Isn't Seth McFarlane like this with Family Guy? He wants to do other projects, but it keep getting renewed.

I think the creators of South Park have also said they're basically over it, but the amount of money they keep getting offered to keep it on the air is just too much to turn down, and it frees them up to do projects they care about.

Matt and Trey apparently dislike the first three seasons of South Park and would wipe them if they could

Sesame Street brought joy, tolerance and education to millions across the world for decades and his practical effects company is still one of the biggest names in the field to this day.

It's kinda funny since their episode mocking the Simpsons for being around so long was something like 10-15 years ago.

Bill Murray with the Ghostbusters Franchise. Until Afterlife wasn't he usually the main holdout for Ghostbusters III mainly being delayed for so long?
