I don't see how. He had roman dead to rights at mania until solo pulled a spike out of his hat. He wants his lick back and if he sees roman again, he might be able to finish him once and for all. Of course he'd want another shot at him imo Yeah, Cody wants to run the fade again with Roman cause he had him beat but as always circumstances got in the way I feel if they wanted to do Seth/Cody would been easy to do now especially with their history Also, like, Cody/Roman made them a lot of goddamn money at a WrestleMania so it’d be silly to basically not find a way to do it again on the biggest stage possible. Maybe it’s because I’m not paying attention as much to the wider story but having Jey do it because of stuff that was going on when there wasn’t a crowd and less of a risk in losing interest seems…weird to me. You can elevate him without him being the one to end Roman’s reign.

The finish was also the exact same as the first time Roman was pinned 10 years ago (Sep 23 2013 Raw) with Jimmy crouching in the corner as Jey hits the splash on Roman and pins him. It’s nice we can do this stuff for WWE for once, because AEW does this “Oh, this is how they were standing when this other thing happened” stuff all the time. PSH. Big Deal. Wake me up when they do a callback to something from PWG. (sarcasm)

He's probably going to take the L but they got in the story he pinned Roman In regards to Cody/Roman, yeah no way they don't run it back. Legit your two biggest stars and both got the crowd in the palm of their hands with whatever they do. If people don't care because Cody should won first time, that's fair but it seems like both men have not lost any steam with the crowd whatsoever

Cody called the whole fall of the Bloodline beat for beat and that’s some heroic babyface shit too.

Cody called the whole fall of the Bloodline beat for beat and that’s some heroic babyface shit too. Exactly. Everything he said in his promo has become true and everyone Roman has wronged is getting their lick back off him First story was just Cody trying to complete his legacy. Now you have the added story of Cody overcoming obstacles himself with Brock and others while Roman has lost all his allies Also just in general it was a smart move to make in hindsight. People were already coming after Cody when he came out Number 30 and beat GUNTHER in the Rumble. If he beat Roman and thus far faced no adversity in his WWE run people would been shitting all over him (as seen with the Bitchalla thread) Cody has continued to rise in stardom past the main event and showed without question he has staying power. Like I said if people are interested, they have every right now to be but the story for the Bloodline has been hitting all this year

Like, they have time to mess it all up (because there’s historical precedence and Daniel Bryan only happened because the fans know of that precedence) but outside of having Cody/Brock feud for literally zero reason (and no, Wade Barrett’s off the cuff reasoning is not one I’ll accept because that literally goes against what we know about Brock Lesnar’s character in terms of a prize fighter), it seems like it’s all going to some kind of plan right now.

Sami already won when he helped cause the Bloodline to implode from within, finally saw Jey see sense and triumphed over Roman at NOC. Those were more psychological than about titles. Cody is the one whose story is specifically about the title and has been since his first promo back. He was screwed over by Roman and predicted that Jey/Jimmy/Solo/Heyman would all leave him and we're halfway there now with the full set probably being complete by the time of the rematch. I think there's a pretty clear path now: Summerslam - Roman v Jey Survivor Series - War games with Usos/Sami/KO final big moment of triumph over Roman, Solo and whoever they get to team with them Rumble - Roman v Solo Mania 40 - Roman v Cody with no one left to bail Roman out and Cody wins the title. I might cry like a baby if Cody wins and all the faces who've fought Roman come out and raise Cody on their shoulders like the faces did for Bret 30 years earlier.

The biggest complaint will be Roman not defending the title as much but I think they sneak in some side stuff. They haven't done him and AJ in a min so that could also carry sometime as well The story seems set in stone, just a matter of how they get there

So I’ll say that if it were me, I’d keep Solo with Roman right up to next year’s WrestleMania, have Roman in his ear talking about loyalty and knowing his place and basically replicate what happened this year with Solo about to hit the Spike but either he walks away or hits Roman with it setting up the finish. If you’re going to do callbacks for this thing, let the biggest one be the setup for Roman/Solo at a Backlash or something.

A chief without a tribe" is just the perfect line. Yeah, the end game is Cody slaying Roman and taking the title.

Jey Uso turning a shoulder up in to a dick punch was the most fundamentally sound thing I've ever seen It was Jey using Roman’s own thing against him.

Roman was right about this being filet mignon and not fast food. I was one of the few (only?) who wanted him to retain at Mania even though I know it made no sense from a storyline standpoint, but credit to WWE for extending the story and keeping it as compelling as it was prior to WM. It might even be more compelling now.
Also, Roman's had a God Tier run. The Usos, Solo, and Sami are all elevated from this story, and Cody finally winning the belt at 40 (which has to be the plan I would think) is going to be a massive moment.

Roman has been pinned every single match of this reign, it's just that there's always a ref bump so it doesn't count. Hell, half those times he's pinned to a 5 count. I was excited for Jey to finally stand up to Roman...6 months ago. However, I will admit I didn't see the match tonight and it was probably very good. That said, some have mentioned the ref bump as a callback. Is it really a callback if that's a standard part of every single Roman match?
Cody had shown a savvyness that none of the others facing Roman had at that point, working with others to try to negate the bloodline interference. I do think he should have won. By all means, they could have done a rematch at the next Mania.
It's funny that folks are still ignoring Cody's injury as a 'hardship'. And you know, leaving the company and creating competition.
I guess my question is now that the bloodline story until mania is basically laid out, what does Cody do for the next 9 months?

Wrestlemania Yeah, The Tribal Chief vs. The American Nightmare in the city that was once the nation’s capital? Like…come on now. If anything, it makes way more sense then it was in Hollywood since that was blatantly booked to try and entice Dwayne.

If anything, it makes way more sense then it was in Hollywood since that was blatantly booked to try and entice Dwayne. The whole "finish the story" was a nice Hollywood hook without the Hollywood ending but the story didn't end there Roman has stuff to do for a few more months, you just got to get Cody stuff to do which isn't that hard Once he finishes up with Brock, if GUNTHER is still IC champ I wouldn't mind them going at it. Give Cody his first real L and have GUNTHER be that guy that is Cody kryptonite as you can always call back to that whenever either man becomes WWE/World champion Tho not like Cody really has to do much. He could wrestle a broom the fans will still be happy to scream WOAH and watch him hit the Cody Cutter
