Was it Mox who surrendered? I couldn't tell what happened since I was trying to watch so many things at once, I assumed Wheeler quit, which was confusing since Knox was on the opposite side of the ring lol The commentators said Mox quit on Yuta's behalf. It wasn't clearly shown on camera though. They picked the wrong camera angle on that finish.

Wow that was good shit and sets up death triangle (and Bandido?)Vs BCC too. Even by his standards Mox looked a madman and the blood donation bit even added some humour. The commentators said Mox quit on Yuta's behalf. It wasn't clearly shown on camera though. They picked the wrong camera angle on that finish. And quite a few times during the match they cut away from the more interesting part so it happened in the background while the foreground stalled. Which is more understandable than not ensuring you frame the finish properly. Annoying but didn't detract too much.

So time to give my thoughts. I thought this was a well-paced, well-booked, incredibly violent cluster-f***. Having Claudio and Kenny start was the perfect choice, since it let them just wrestle for five minutes, then adding in PAC to shift to some harder hitting action, while laying out a key plot point for later. Once Moxley got in, you got the violence we were expecting and the match just never slowed down from there. The screwdriver, the fork, the glass, the bed of nails, the thumbtacks, the biting, the handcuffs, the table... everything played its role perfectly.
What I really liked is how this felt like a main event caliber match. Last year didn't feel as huge to me, due to too many guys who hadn't been portrayed as top talent (2.0, Garcia and Wheeler at that point, Hager, Proud and Powerful). The year before had the detriment of being held under pandemic restrictions still at Daily's Place, even though everyone involved was credible. This year, I bought every guy as a top star. And looking ahead, there's some great stuff to come. Kenny vs. Takeshita, Death Triangle vs. BCC, Hung Bucks vs. Dark Order, Golden Elite vs. Callis Family... this is the Blood and Guts match I was hoping for.

It was a tough watch with a lot of brutal spots but overall I loved it. Mox coming in and immediately ripping flesh with a fork popped me massively. The bed of Nails just ouch.
Camera angles weren’t great as mentioned but loved PAC and Takeshita walking out when the going got tough. Started moaning when it looked obvious Yuta was taking the fall again but technically Mox did so was fine by me.
Assume we are getting Claudio v PAC out of this. Obviously Omega v Takeshita. Where Mox goes next I’m not sure.

A great main event and just a great episode of Dynamite overall. Granted there were some production issues along the way but it didn't detract me from the match by a large. I was surprised they didn't do a crash pad spot like the previous two years but it was a little refreshing for once. Assuming the war with the BCC is over, I suppose the only thread remaining is Omega's conflict with Don Callis and a possible match with Takeshita at All In.

I hope the story with PAC is going somewhere otherwise that was a waste of him and his return

It was...good, enjoyable, without blowing me away. Maybe my expectations were too high? There were some cool spots no doubt, but all I kept thinking was that i wanted to see all these dudes settle the feud in more of a wrestling match and less of a hardcore brawl. I get that it's become this massive blood feud but I dunno, this environment didn't play to most of the participants strengths, at all
Of the 3 big multiman tags they did in this storyline, the straight up tag match at Forbidden Door was far and away my favourite, followed by Anarchy in the Arena and then this.
Mox was the MVP, he really was the glue that held it together. And this was a match that played to his strengths, to continue on my above point.
Now let's move on! A drawback of this storyline was that the two biggest factions of the company were contained to one feud, AEW is a better place with all these dudes spread out and interacting with way more of the roster.

I'm not the sort of fan who marks for hardcore/deathmatch/bloody brawls for the brutality alone. There needs to be a good story, like in Mick Foley's best work.
This absolutely had that. It was a great culmination to the feud, it kept continuity with details from years ago, and I thought it did a fantastic job balancing shock moments with appropriate character moments. It wasn't just spectacle for the sake of it, everyone made choices fitting for their gimmicks and came out looking better for it.

I just thought it told a really clever story. The BCC chose mercenaries to fill out their ranks but the Elite chose friends. The friends stuck together but the mercenaries bailed. Mox bought in most of the weapons and intense violence and was happy to dish it out to the Elite. But when the Elite dished it out to Yuta, Mox stopped it. He'll wreck his opponents and himself, but not his young boy. Plus, this may be one of the few times that a bump from the top of the cell was teased and wasn't delivered but nobody seems pissed about it. Matt Jackson making it rain thumbtacks was inventive enough that the lack of a cell bump didn't matter and Yuta still died anyway. So basically, the story is about the power of friendship winning the day. We all learned a valuable lesson today.

I love that the power of friendship ended up winning in the end because the Elite came together as friends whereas the mercenaries that joined with the BCC bounced when things went sour. I also really like Mox surrendering to save Yuta because you just know that Danielson is going to pounce on that as soon as he comes back and call Mox a cowardly little bitch for giving up to save Yuta.
My bet is that this leads to Kingston vs Mox to slap the shit out of his friend and finally make him see sense.

Moxley vs Kingston at Wembley or All Out would be something I'd love to see, Kingston has all the ammo in the world now too because the guys he thought had his back in PAC and Takeshita ditched him and who knows if Claudio might threaten to as well because Mox is the one who quit in the match...

Probably the most I’ve ever laughed in a live thread, I’ll tell you that much. My favorit bit was shitting on yuta. Yuta bringing a chair and everyone: "THAT LITTLE SHITHEAD IS SO STUPID WITH HIS CHAIR" Takeshita Brings Another Chair "YEH TAKESHITA WITH THE CHAIR, f***ING GO" Cinnabon gave him that chair. They secretly had Cinnabon in their corner which is why Konosuke got taken out of the match. Don Callis knew if Konosuke lost he would lose that sweet sweet sweet Cinnabon Money/Notoriety

I personally like 2022's Men's WarGames match more than this one. It didn't have the blood and gore of this match, and it was still awesome.
This match was great too btw. Just sayin' these types of matches don't need to be super violent to be awesome.

Meltzer gave it 4.75 stars For comparison these two broke the scale: Bullet Club Gold vs. FTR got 5.25 Miyahara vs. Nakajima (NOAH, included for once) 5.25
All outscore anything in the G1 days 1-4 and AAA's Triplemania. Omega vs. Vikingo was 4.5
Even if I think breaking the scale for those two matches is silly and I'm in a minority that didn't think FTR's match should even be in that upper echelon it does show how much many great matches we get in a week these days.

Perhaps Eddie can help Mox see the light and turn babyface. Eddie can tell Mox that The Elite won because of friendship. And Eddie is Mox's friend, so friendship is better than mercenary.
