Interesting that Meltzer noted that votes went back and forth between the 4 about whether they were going to stay in AEW or go to WWE. I think they would have been dumb not to at least consider it, but in the end I don't even think this was close for some of these guys, especially The Bucks in particular. I don’t know. According to the Observer, one of the four is quoted as saying you’d probably be surprised who voted where, and that votes changed over time from one company to the other.

I'm surprised Kenny was considering Wwe. He seems pretty genuine about supporting LGBTQ+ people and women so can't imagine sports washing would sit well with him.
Similar with Hangman, he took paternity leave at his peak and his push continued can't imagine that in wwe. Although tbf they seem better than their COVID cuts peak mistreatment of workers. That said he's younger than the rest and would have to give it serious consideration.
If the Bucks don't have much time left before retirement I can see the appeal but would be a big risk given the usual state of the tag division on wwe.

Bucks are talking about resigning with AEW on Swerve's podcast. Pretty interesting listen on the ups and downs of the process. Matt called it "NBA level contracts." Though not quite Jaylen Brown money lol.

I'd take Kenny's comments in that SI article at face value. He wants to work different styles with different people while also remaining involved in his interests outside of wrestling. AEW gives him those opportunities in a way WWE wouldn't. Kenny's been very open in the past about, and has made an entire gimmick off of, "changing the [wrestling] world". I imagine it's not that he specifically wants to be "the greatest to never work a WWE show", but going off of stuff he's said over the years I could easily see it being that he wants his career to stand as a sort of monument to "here's what you can accomplish without Stamford." Does that mean he's never given a thought to going there? Of course not; the deal that Triple H wrote up for the Elite just before AEW started was one they seemed very, very interested in, and if WWE came along offering him the keys to the kingdom in this negotiation then I'd imagine he took it very seriously. But I do think, going by what he's said on the matter, he does take some level of pride in showing other routes people can take, and AEW is part of his legacy in actually building an entirely separate route people can take, and I can easily those being factors if he had two fairly even offers in front of him.

I think its probably for the best for both companies at the end of the day, WWE will be just fine without them and will either hire other workers from elsewhere or focus more on creating their own talent and AEW keeps its best talent and will continue to thrive with them.

As long as the talent are happy I don't care where they land. Enjoy the money, time with your family and loved ones and hopefully work is as great as it can be for all of them in AEW.

This also explains why story wise Kenny and Habgman didn't have as much drama. If they would leave together Tk and theb probably wouldn't want to leave that whole thing unsolved

Yep, Bucks are back in the tag division officially, said so on Rampage
So they're all gonna heat up again I would assume.

Caught the news earlier this week. Hearing that quelled one of my biggest concerns as I really did not want them going to WWE.

I will have genuine fear for AEW if the Elite ever leave. Not retire, leave. The company is AEW. It's the brand, which for the record I always thought was a terrible choice for exactly this reason.
But now? They're all the soul of the company.
edit: Also, I have to say - I haven't watched WWE in years, but, WWE doesn't need the Elite. And what's more, I don't think the way WWE is structured works for a stable like the Elite any more. WWE does not really make stables up of guys who are ostensibly all main event stars, including the tag team. Hangman and Omega might get super over there and get pushed, but tag teams do not main event WWE - I hear the Bloodline might count, but I've also seen plenty of threads talking about how they have nobody to wrestle and nobody on their level, so I think they're gonna slide down the card real fast when that angle eventually concludes. This isn't even me being critical of WWE inherently, it's just a different way of working that I think the Elite wouldn't work for.
