Hikaru Shida's the new champ.
Big worry she's only holding it til All In and losing it to Saraya there, but either way, her going to the biggest AEW show ever as champ is still a cool thing

Even if she does lose it at All In, she got to close out the 200th episode as champion. So well deserved for how she carried that division for ages.

Great surprise and exactly what the Women's Division needed
She is one of the best, one could call her Mrs. AEW, she deserved this.

Double champ Shida is good. She should bring the Regina di Wave title to Wembley.

Just said it in the show thread, but while I know it wouldn't be a smart choice if you want to keep both champs strong, I just really, really want to see Shida vs. Athena going ham on one another in a champion vs. champion match in London.

I recommend people go back and check out her title defenses. She got the best match possible out of so many people. I love Toni as a worker but having the division settle back into solid to great title matches without too many shenanigans will be a great change of pace.

Going from Shida as champ to Saraya would be like going from eating steak at a three star michelin restaurant to eating strip club steak.

Said it in the All In thread but one more time won't hurt.
I'm hoping for a Shida v Storm v Britt v Saraya match at Wembley. As well as getting as many people as possible on the card the Women's title match having four different nationalities competing adds to the international flavor of the event.

I really hope they don’t go with Saraya winning it at All In, tbh. It’s clear she can’t carry a full schedule. They need a fighting champ right now.

Great surprise and exactly what the Women's Division needed She is one of the best, one could call her Mrs. AEW, she deserved this. Mrs. AEW? Is she married to the company? Hopefully, this'll mean that she'll slow down on some of her Japanese commitments and be around in AEW more. Although she hasn't been booked well over the last year or so, she's also been in and out of the country a lot, making it difficult to keep anything going.

Shida carried the women's division through the pandemic, so it's nice that she's been rewarded once again in front of a more packed crowd. Hikaru Shida's the new champ. However long this lasts, it was still a big moment I'm glad they gave Shida. She did so much for the company and for a division that needed the credibility she gave the title; I think even if this is a short term thiong, it's a well earned bit of respect to how much she's done to be able to main event the 200th episode and get that win.

Good, now commit to the run and feature her and the top talents in that division strongly and regularly. Don’t want to be back here in another month or two seeing more chat about how they’ve given up AGAIN.
