Very proud of the Lionesses for getting to the semi final. Their third in a row just need to go one better. Playing against the hosts next is going to be very tough.

those early parts of the game were rough on england, with that blatant pull surely being a yellow card! phenomenal columbian goal ... terrible columbian goalie-ing, and a superbly taken winner for the english! WELL DONE
crazy aussie v french game, going by the highlights, how no one scored in that 90 minutes i don't know!

A very encouraging start for Newcastle. Good to see Tonali and Barnes scoring on their debut, and personally I thought Gordon had a great game.

RB Leipzig 3-0 Bayern Munich.
Harry bringing that Spurs magic with him.
Also, Andros Townsend somehow coming to the conclusion that if Kane were to stay at Spurs for another year and let his contract expire they would still get a fee for him. With takes like that I foresee a long career in punditry for him.

Crazy Saints/ Norwich match. 4-4. I'll be glad when the JWP/Lavia/whoever the big teams want to buy with ridiculously lowball bids saga is over.

£115 million for Caicedo is insane. I hope for Chelsea’s sake the fee is worth it.
He also chose Chelsea over Liverpool which I still struggle to get around why any player would do this unless he wants to stay in London or near London. Or he feels his style fits Chelsea more?

Probably the draw of London. He wanted to go to Arsenal in January, remember. Interesting that three of the four most expensive British transfers are now for holding/deep-lying midfielders.

As a Liverpool fan, I know it’s easy to say this now but I really didn’t think Caicedo was worth half of what he’ll go for. He may well go on to be one of the best signings of recent years but I still think £115m for him (even with current transfer prices) is ridiculous.

Big ratings excepted in Australia for the England/Australia semi.
All the other TV networks have taken off their prime time programs off of the schedule during the matches duration. Takes me back to the 2000 Olympics when Channels 9 and 10 didn’t bother competing with events that Australia were expected to win gold in and put on music videos and stuff.

The awful decision VAR made at the end of Man U v Wolves is fine because the referees chief apologised for it. And that’s all that matters! He said sorry!
Only a week into the season and VAR is already a frustrating presence.

Spain are the first team into the Women’s World Cup Final with a 2-1 win over Sweden. All three goals were scored in the last 10 minutes of the regulation 90.

Going back to Saturday.... when you have to start Neal Maupay at striker because you have no other options, you know it's going to be a rough day offensively. The funny thing is, the had so many chances to score and didn't. Going to be a long season and another relegation battle next March/April/May.
I'm not sure who exactly to pull for in the semifinal tonight/tomorrow. I really like England's team, but Australia is a great story and Sam Kerr is so good.

Only a week into the season and VAR is already a frustrating presence. Only argument I can think of as to why it wasn’t a penalty is that Onana had his eyes on the ball until about half way into the jump which is when he turned and realised that he’d messed up. Maybe VAR thought that as there was no malice it wasn’t a foul?

Maybe VAR thought that as there was no malice it wasn’t a foul? The most plausible explanation I've seen is the ball goes over Kalajdžić's head and Dawson heads it before any contact is made, making the collision between Onana and Kalajdžić an off-the-ball incident that didn't infringe play, thus was not a foul. Given goalkeepers have additional protections when coming for a cross, this seems the most likely reason for the decision. I think the actual problem is the rules regarding what is and what isn't a penalty have been modified so many times in the last five years I think even officials now have a hard time keeping track. In any case, the officials have been suspended by the FA for this weekend's fixtures.

Go for the team from the country I was born, or the country I grew up in?
Can I just go for both teams to have fun?

Not many rivalries bigger in international sport than Australia versus England. A shot at a first-ever Women's World Cup trophy against Spain awaits the winner.

Toone drills one in and England take a 1-0 lead.
