An interesting thing that I didn’t know existed is this video that WWE uploaded to their YouTube channel when she left… This isn’t something that they normally do at all so it’s super surprising they did it for Kairi… Like I said, KAIRI was incredibly well liked by damn near everyone backstage. I think there was/is only one woman in the company who didn't like her, if Mark Henry is to be believed. I’m disappointed that it seemingly always comes down to money. Not that they should wrestle for free, but I’d like to see more wrestlers who wrestle because they enjoy it and not for how much money they make. This is a combat sport where one move could end your career You take the money where you can and where it makes sense for you. You can love the game but this is a livelihood, not a hobby I assume if Bushiroad came close to WWE money she would stay but you don't sell yourself short when you are good at something and when this is your career Dave alluded to money problems being a thing for a lot of talent under the Bushiroad banner. Bushiroad are cutting back on funding. Which makes sense. They also shut down one of their biggest mobile game IPs recently in Cardfight! Vanguard Zero, and the Cardfight! Vanguard TCG in general is having a tough time as it's falling out of popularity. Bushiroad didn't put the IWGP Women's Title on Mayu originally (she was supposed to be the inaugural champion) because she wanted more money if she was going to work internationally. Eventually they caved. So it's pretty clear they are getting tight with their purse strings, which will probably lead to talent being poached.

And for Kairi it is a win/win situation for her as her and WWE got along really well so I assume for her it was a no brainer to go back with all the factors considered

Goddamn fans wanting to enjoy watching wrestlers they like, how dare they. I mean, they can? She’s going to be on TV soon For WWE. Which isn't particularly exciting for some fans. That's why I qualified it with "enjoy watching"; I won't get a lot of enjoyment out of Kairi in WWE, same as I didn't with even some of my all time favorites like Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson. So yeah, as a fan, it sucks. Nobody's saying she shouldn't go make money and get more exposure.

KAIRI also has her own business to think about and expanding and continuing to build that out so no doubt IMO this was as much a personal as it was business as well.

Because ONLY at the end did they finally start to let KAIRI really show out with her matches with Bayley and Sasha at the end of that first run both absoloute bangers but by then KAIRI made up her mind.

It feels like Shida only has the title just so they have an excuse to hotshot it onto Saraya or something at Wembley. And if you aren't in Britt's circle or Saraya's circle, you are going to be hard pressed for actual TV time. And Bushiroad doesn't want to pay whatever KAIRI is asking for (which she has every right to do). TNA isn't much better, if just for the fact that they can't match the pay of AEW or WWE, and offer significantly less exposure.

Though I said I liked seeing Kairi in Stardom and other big cards, and if she signed with one of those other companies she'd at least still get to do that if she wanted. And nah, don't think she'd be wasted.

I am fully aware of how difficult it is (and rightfully so) for any american promotion and they have tried plenty to lock in a solid working relationship with STARDOM , because if I had that roster that Rossy has I would be extremely resistant as well.
But I am starting to wonder just a little between KAIRI's return and the mentioning of STARDOM openly is creeking open that door.
This is not delcaring anything of the sort is ever happening but just something that gets a little head turn from me.

Like with Joe and Daniel Bryan, they weren’t exactly wasted in WWE or in Bryan’s case, accomplished quite a lot, main evented mania, won a couple of World Titles, had a lot of fantastic matches, memorable moments, was part of one of the most entertaining tag team with Team Hell No, he had quite the hall of fame worthy career in WWE, but..it happened in WWE, where he had his most greatest successes in his career, so it sucked. I don’t know sounds kinda petty to me

I don’t know sounds kinda petty to me I mean people can rightly find WWE incredibly morally objectionable as a company and find it much harder to enjoy watching some of their favorite wrestlers because they work there. I'm going through that with soccer right now after Saudi Arabia signed some of my favorite players. I can be both happy for them but also wish they didn't go somewhere where I'll either not watch them play or find it morally uneasy when I do watch them.

It's not like you'd go up to a Red Sox fan and tut-tut them for being disappointed if their favorite player signed to the Yankees even if it's a great business decision for them.
Bringing up Danielson and Joe, they've had some great matches in WWE. Danielson's had classics, even. They are also very different kinds of matches than what you saw out of them in ROH, or in Joe's case, TNA, because each promotion has a different kind of vibe and structure to it.

He mentioned (on Busted Open) a few months before the infamous TLC incident involving KAIRI getting concussed that Charlotte Flair does not like KAIRI. He hinted that Charlotte felt like having to sell for KAIRI was below her, because of how small KAIRI was.

I don’t know sounds kinda petty to me Ok, but here's the thing: if you're not a fan of WWE's style, then what "bangers" am I missing? I don't know how else to express this: I think WWE's product is basically fair to poor. Subjectively, I feel their stories are pretty bland, their promo style does nothing for me, and, most importantly, I find their approach to match layouts and ring psychology to be the least interesting of nearly any major promotion, given how little emphasis is placed on what occurs within the matches. For all the years I've heard people rag on other companies for having "spotfests", I feel WWE has "spotfests" in the truest sense of the word: matches where moves happen but really don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things or even the immediate story being told, because all that'll really matter in the end is "who won, and what was the finish?" Yes, I know there are exceptions (I keep pointing to Gunter on this, dude actually gets to build his title reign around the matches telling individual stories of struggle that require different approaches), but I'm not going to sit through hours and hours of content to get to an occasional match here or there that's very much the exception to the rule. Bryan accomplished a lot in WWE; great career, lots of money, met his wife and started his family. I was happy for him. I also had no desire to watch more than a few of his matches there, because by and large they weren't on the level of what I'd grown accustomed to from him. I badly wanted to see Samoa Joe face Brock Lesnar, got that chance, watched it, and felt more disappointed than I ever have over a match I was anticipating, and it was very much due to how WWE main event matches are usually formatted. I kept tabs on CM Punk when he first went there from ROH, thought him winning the title in 2011 was fun, then watched them nuke his entire story from orbit with things like "The Summer of Punk ends with Triple H and Kevin Nash in a Ladder Match." I looked in to see how Shinsuka Nakamura would do there, and I got him repeatedly elbowing AJ Styles in the dick. My favorites could go there, win every title, get millions of dollars, and go to the WWE Hall of Fame, but if the show doesn't entertain me then I'm not going to sit through it in the hopes they'll do right by some wrestlers I like. I've applied this philosophy to just about every promotion I've ever watched: when WWF/E, WCW, TNA, or even ROH got dull or unentertaining, I stopped watching, even if I still had favorites working in them. So yeah: I'm happy for Kairi getting paid and getting exposure. But there's basically no match WWE could book her in that'd make me go "Wow, I can't wait to see that!", because I know what it'll end up being under WWE's style, and if I want to see Kairi at her best I'll go watch her work elsewhere. Sorry for the rant, but while I'll never, ever begrudge a wrestler getting paid, there are reasons why as a fan I can still be disappointed that they're going somewhere to work where, based on a massive body of evidence, I can look and say "it's just not the same" or "it's just not going to appeal to me."

Yeah, my big comparison there is that I was at Danielson's first AEW match, his title match against Kenny Omega in 2021; I spent the match having the best time because for the first time since I last saw him in ROH (which, coincidentally, was a match in NYC that I got to attend, as well), I felt like I was watching the American Dragon again. That doesn't mean Daniel Bryan wasn't a successful character in many ways or that he never did anything interesting in WWE, but it was just a completely different feeling seeing him wrestle more in his own style again.

This is unexpected Is it me or does she look great in that pirate getup? Io and KAIRI are the Luka and Ahim of wrestling. Which makes MAYU Don lol. But yes KAIRI's pirate look is so elaborate and cool as f*** looking but Joshi in general spare no expense for their looks they all look straight out of an anime.
