Another example of Tony Khan being a bitch, says Hulk Hogan will never be in AEW, and last night, Leatherface.

I know it’s a work and I’m a dumb mark but when I saw Chainsaw Charlie ‘debut’ back in the day on RAW I was absolutely petrified that the chainsaw was going to go flying into the crowd. 26 or so years on and I was legit unable to watch as the chainsaw was brought out.

I briefly had a dream about this match and I couldn’t go back to sleep. First match to be so ass it haunted me. You had a nightmare that was sponsored by Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Nice!

It was a sponsored match, I don't really think we have to take sideswipes about the women's division in another thread (Especially when this one's been pretty nice honestly) when they did this for a partnership deal and Jeff Jarrett was highly involved in it. None of this negates me hating it and preferring to see women featured on the show. It's not a sideswipe but one of the issues I have with it. I was entertained, but Abadon showing up during the match would have been perfect for their gimmick, since they haven't been on AEW TV in two years now.

Update: Apparently AEW got $100K for that sponsorship and just donated all the money to the Maui Food Bank. People can complain and all, but I have a hard time thinking it was bad for that reason alone.

That is absolutely wonderful but it was still bad television though...Just not nearly as serious as people are making it out to be... I have seen alot of people bring up Jericho's "set wrestling back 30 years" tweet about the zombies so it will likely take a bit for this argument to die down

I have seen alot of people bring up Jericho's "set wrestling back 30 years" tweet about the zombies so it will likely take a bit for this argument to die down It was basically the definition of Wrestlecrap, but in the end most likely pretty harmless: it centered on two guys on the back ends of their careers, and the only truly over the top "what the actual @#$% is this?!" moment was having an actual Leatherface walk out with strobe lights going off - if one did want to make a distinction from the zombie match, the fact Leatherface was only there for a few seconds is probably it. Dumb, would rather not have it, but at least it was fairly minimized, as the vast bulk of the action was the actual wrestlers just brawling but occasionally with weird lighting. Fully agreed it would've been so much more fun as Broken universe wackiness, absurd things like movie characters appearing would feel downright normal there, though I've got no clue what the sponsors wanted out of things so for all I know maybe that wasn't feasible? No idea. But hey, if it made them $100k that all went to charity for Maui, I can roll with it, I just would reeeeally prefer to not see it become any kind of regular thing.

Totally understandable from a short term commercial perspective.
The match itself wasn't great and a total cluster but acceptable, until the Wish version of Leatherface showed up then it entered early 90s WCW Turner Crossover/WWE Zombie Crossover territory of bad television that makes you cringe.

So can we discuss how Satnam has an incredible Chokeslam and how Big Show I feel like has really helped both Satnam AND Big Bill with them? Because he absolutely sent Jeff to hell lmfao I hope they use Santam like they have been and eventually he gets to be an "attraction" guy. He can be around obviously, but he doesn't need to be wrestling all the time. I know he is in the "learning" phase right now... but once he is ring ready, he should be an attraction. That was a damn good chokeslam, I agree.

It was harmless and ultimately benefitted a real world crisis. I didn't care for it but I won't bemoan AEW for agreeing to it at all. And considering Tony changed a lot of stuff apparently trying to benefit the people affected, I can't find it in me to be mad or anything of the like.

That match was absolutely ass, but it was entertaining ass and AEW did donate the 100 large to the Maui Food Bank, so can't be mad at it.

Maybe I'm just too forgiving because I didn't think it was any worse than some of the other brawl-type matches we've seen in AEW with Jarrett and his crew.

Jarrett must now carry that belt around at all times. It would be wrong if he didn’t.
