So, uh, there's an article on TMZ that goes in depth in what reportedly happened. I'm gonna put it in spoilers because I know it's upsetting. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}
WWE superstar Bray Wyatt experienced a series of heart complications in the months leading up to his death, and a doctor-recommended heart defibrillator was not with him when they found his body ... TMZ has learned.
According to law enforcement records, obtained by TMZ, Wyatt -- real name Windham Rotunda -- told his girlfriend he was going to take a nap Thursday, and she became concerned when she heard his alarm going off about an hour later without stopping.
The report says Windham was discovered in his bed, not breathing, and was turning blue. Windham's girlfriend called 911, as her mother attempted CPR ... but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Cops spoke with Windham's immediate family members who said he had COVID in March 2023 and developed heart complications -- causing him to have a "weak lower part of his heart."
In fact, just a week before he died, Windham was hospitalized for a heart issue. He had a follow-up appointment with doctors the morning he died and was advised to continue to wear an external heart defibrillator -- a device designed to treat people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
Though it's not known if the device would have saved his life, investigators determined Windham was not wearing the defib at the time of his death ... they later located it inside his vehicle parked in the driveway.

I found my sister in-law and otherwise best friend in the world after my wife and I went to go check on her. She was 38.
Finding someone that you love, and going through the "OH f*** OH f*** OH f***" to "Oh... oh no they're gone" within seconds because you just... know... is something that I don't ever wish on anyone ever.
I'm sure they are because WWE's great about it in the modern era, but I hope they're giving his family everything they need right now in terms of support.

I've had to make numerous 911 calls over the years for family and friends, but not for that so far. I can only imagine how horrible it must feel. I'm really sorry.

When my mom passed away, she was sick, I knew this, but not exactly how sick. I went to my folks place one day, dad said “I had to take your mom to the hospital today”. Through the usual machinations we arrived at we’d go visit mom, dad wanted KFC for dinner that night, but I had plans to meet a friend for drinks that night, like a door down from KFC. All this to say is, when I got to hospital and saw my mom my thought was “f***. This doesn’t look survivable”. That deterioration in a day.

Damn... I can't understand for the life of me why he would not have put the device on immediately when he got home from the Doctor's appointment. I don't know if it would have helped in this specific situation, but it certainly couldn't have hurt.

Nice tribute to Bray from Becky at the end of Raw tonight. God, one of those times you wish you could go through the screen and hug someone. Why is it every day since the day he first showed up on screen, it feels like Bray had something to teach us? He’s been gone for five and I feel like I’m still learning from him.

Him deciding to go to bed sounds like one of those cases when someone knows they're at death's doorstep. We'll never know, but maybe Bray wanted to leave peacefully and not have his family around when he passed.
Had to wipe some tears from my eyes after reading this. It's so f***ing tragic.

look at all he accomplished in such a relatively short career
1 time WWE Champion 2 time Universal Champion 1 time RAW Tag Team Champion with Matt Hardy 1 time Smackdown Tag Team Champion with Randy Orton
it will be a very long time before we see someone who reinvented themselves multiple times like Bray did

My father died in his sleep from a heart attack. It turned out he had heart disease but it was never diagnosed. It sounds like they were on top of his heart health but when the heart is in that sort of condition, it can go out at any moment and the small signs in the buildup will stand out a lot more after the fact. But it seems like they all did their due diligence and his body just gave out. It's horrible.

It's also a reminder to just go get your heart checked out occasionally. Odds are good that if you're young, it'll be OK, but there are outlier cases like this one and you just never freaking know.
