I agree with the thought that if they still want to do the roster split, just use ROH (without actually calling it ROH) as the Collision roster, and use their belts as the titles on that show. Then the stuff on Honor Club can just be what Dark/Dark Elevation was, to give guys low pressure spots for extra ring time. Warner unfortunately would shut down that idea immediately.

Only if TK directly says "hey guys, so I'm moving my ROH roster to Collission, we cool?" It's not like they'd be exactly tuned into pro wrestling discourse at this level to notice. All he'd have to do is use the belts there, and keep everything else going as usual. These belts are already all over the shows anyway, what's the difference to the causal observer?

I doubt they're just going to consolidate the ROH roster to Collision when Tony as you said can use the belts across all programming and continues to. That's just pigeon holing Collision and we just got that show OUT of that.

it's a shame Athena who as been doing great work for a while is not getting seen by a lot of people, her angle with Billie Starkz and by extension Lexy Nair currently is really enjoyable

Shut the whole thing down. Give Dalton Castle the AEW championship.

I’ve never been an ROH fanatic, but I do genuinely appreciate Khan not throwing in the towel on his purchase and trying to do right by the legacy. Maybe it’s the withered husk of the WCW fan in me that anxiously awaited Shane McMahon’s WCW for all of three months before Vince abruptly pulled the plug and turned it into the Alliance.

I think a big problem is that they have 4 sets of heel champs that have been champs all year and have not lost a single time on their ROH show, and they also in their own way feel they have to protect those champs which limits how much they are able to do on the main AEW shows as well.
Hell just look at Athena and Claudio specifically. Athena has had several great matches with Willow certainly, and had one super short match with Jade, but other than that in the year+ she's been in AEW she hasn't wrestled Hayter, Britt, Toni, Ruby, Shida, Riho, Nyla Rose, Statlander, hell not even Anna Jay. She's one of the best women's wrestlers in the world and just having her face endless jobbers and Willow/Billie Starkz/Skye Blue all the time is kinda lame considering.
For Claudo, he was in a many many months long feud with the Elite and never faced Hangman or Omega in a singles match which is a colossal waste. He's also never faced any of his fellow BCC guys, Starks, Darby, MJF, Miro, Rush, Swerve, Bandido, Cole, any of the House of Black, Jack Perry, OC, and so many others in singles matches.
It's just this world where he caps both the potential of upward growth on the show and the limits of some of the best wrestlers in the planet by feeling like he has to protect them in the process. So as much as I do enjoy ROH in general, I'd rather it just basically be Dark or whatever then what it is now because of this way of thinking it gets Tony into.

Ring of Honor is not going to mean anything until Jeff Hardy shows up again as the Willow character.

So the Champion lineup for the brand after tonight is now
World: Eddie Kingston
Tag: Cole and MJF
TV: Samoa Joe
PURE: Shibata
Trios: Adam Page and The Young Bucks
Womens: Athena
At this point, I have to wonder if Tony is gearing up to try and get ROH a deal again. And at this point I also have to wonder if it's going to be shopped to places outside of Warner, who have been given every opportunity to put it on one of their channels or their streaming service, and they just don't care about it.
It might be in Tony's best interest to see if he can get another Network to bite and treat ROH well. At this point Warner doesn't care about it, and it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if you could get another Network interested in what you're doing, especially with Warner stringing along giving you a big money deal for a whole extra year with no real reason given.
Idk, it'll be interesting to see how this continues to develop, but this ROH's best lineup of champions quality wise since Tony bought the company, I feel like he might be making a pitch.

Something has definitely changed recently. All the champs are well known pushed talent and the belts are all over TV again after largely being absent most of the year. I don't think this is an accident. Maybe TK is buoyed by the writer's strike to try to see if any network will take a chance on ROH.

I feel like it might be a combo of the strike and maybe Warner balking on giving them the massive TV Deal for another year. I can't imagine that's what TK planned for, especially when he had to cut DARK and Elevation So if he gets ROH on another Network since WBD doesn't want it, you could even revive DARK and put it under the ROH branding. And if WBD gets angry, they have no one but themselves to blame, because they repeatedly just kept saying ROH isn't investable... well maybe not to them, but they might learn quickly that someone else might think differently...

If Tony is intent on trying to replicate what WWE has achieved with NXT by using ROH, then he needs to treat it as an actual developmental territory. There is really no need to feature it weekly on AEW that is just wasting air time and practically going into competition with yourself. Just jerky it as a separate entity doing mostly house shows, maybe get some localized tv seams for them or reserve access to ROH content as a special deal for people who sign up for the exclusive streaming package. Use ROH matches as the dark show, a way to warm the crowd up before the camera start rolling. Every now and then do an ROH reunion special bringing together big babes of ROH past.

I hope so because otherwise it feel like roh has a better set of champions than aew which doesn't seem right. (4 out of 6 imo)
