Of all people, Tomko and Abyss had a really good match on one of the TNA PPVs.
Warrior is the standout for outlier great matches. His Retirement match with Macho Man, their rematch, his big Summerslam match for the IC title with Rick Rude - all far, far, far better than they had any right to be. The Retirement Match is probably my favourite WrestleMania match, other than Bret/Owen.
Test, when motivated, had some surprisingly good ones. Him and Kane meshed together really well. Him and Shane McMahon had a barnstormer. He worked well with Eddie too, but tbf, who didn't?
Mike Knox randomly had a really good match with Finlay on Smackdown sometime in 2009.
Los Boricuas and The Headbangers had a pretty good one in one of the British only PPVs.

Kevin Nash admits himself that he rarely had great in-ring matches but in late 95/early 96 Bret and Shawn had great matches with him at Survivor Series and the IYH after Wrestlemania. And people usually only talk about the finish but I thought the Starrcade 98 main event was a good battle with two mega over faces going at it. A motivated Kevin Nash was fairly underrated as a big man - a charismatic guy who knew his strengths and how to get them to work within a match. His Bret and Shawn matches are standouts, but his Undertaker Mania match is a good one too, he had some good matches in 1996-1998 WCW, and again, his run in WWE in 2003 was quite good too.

Yeah Nash was a good big man wrestler when he was motivated. He had some very good high profile matches in his career. People remember him poorly because his title reign was working with Sid in the absolute worst stretch of Sid's career, Mabel, and Bulldog when he was first learning to work heel. When paired with Bret, Shawn, Razor, Kid, Jarrett, Bam Bam, Taker, etc he had some really fun matches. Same goes for Hogan. He was on autopilot from about 1991/92 thru the end of WCW but throughout the 80s and occasionally in 2002 he had some really good matches. You don't have to work like Ric Flair or Bret Hart to be a good wrestler.

He could certainly have good non-formula matches, though understandably the formula is what made everyone rich!

Test was quite good for these "surprise good matches" before he went on the steroids. And died.

How about Hogan/Warrior at WM6? Yeah, but only for Warrior. Hogan can work, he just discovered he didn't need to in the West and stopped. Bayley vs Eva Marie in NXT really managed to work around Eva's limitations very well This match was genuinely really good. The level of heat Eva was getting! Kevin Nash admits himself that he rarely had great in-ring matches but in late 95/early 96 Bret and Shawn had great matches with him at Survivor Series and the IYH after Wrestlemania. I actually thought his match with Hunter in 2011 was surprisingly entertaining too. Test, when motivated, had some surprisingly good ones. Him and Kane meshed together really well. Him and Shane McMahon had a barnstormer. He worked well with Eddie too, but tbf, who didn't? Test/Brock from KOTR '02 was a fairly short, but really solid match. *OSW have entered the chat*

How about Hogan/Warrior at WM6? Warrior also had bangers with Rick Rude (SS89) and Randy Savage (WM7) that I would argue were better. That said, it is probably my favourite Hogan match, just ahead of vs Rock (WM18). Hogan’s best matches tended to be those he lost to me. Came up in a different thread, but Scotty 2 Hotty vs Dean Malenko (Backlash 2000) is a potential candidate here. Nothing mediocre about Dean, but Scotty certainly never had a match near to that level that I have seen.

The Wrestlemania 2 tag titles match was comfortably the best match Brutus Beefcake ever had.

There is a hardcore tag match between Dreamer and Sandman vs Test and Mike Knox which is unnecessarily good
There is also just, Big Show in 2006 generally. I love Show but good matches are not really his thing. But in 06 he had a six month run of mostly bangers - especially that wild hardcore match with Flair.
He also had a number of matches that nobody expected to be good, like the Mayweather one and a few with Sheamus where they just beat the f*** out of each other

Lord Tensai was the drizzling shits as a character and in the ring, but his matches with Sheamus were pretty good.

Like what was Viscera/Mabel's best ever match? As Big Daddy V, he had a 3 on 1 handicap match on ECW where he just squashes the crap out of these jobbers. Match is only about 2 minutes which is about all you really want from Big Vis.

Lord Tensai was the drizzling shits as a character and in the ring, but his matches with Sheamus were pretty good. There's something about Sheamus and "big lads biffing each other" matches. But yeah, unfortunately everything about Lord Tensai was f***ing dire, and it's a shame because he could've had a decent run if they'd actually given him something to work with and hadn't saddled him with a terrible gimmick and had a few more matches like that.

Like what was Viscera/Mabel's best ever match? Khali's best match was probably One Night Stand 07 v Cena. He had a pretty decent last man standing with Undertaker on Smackdown in 06 too. That one was taped and heavily edited to look watchable though because apparently they had no faith to put it live on the Summerslam 06 card which was the original plan. Maven had a good world title match with HHH in 03 on Sunday Night Heat of all places. I was ready to tell you that you must be misremembering the title match from Raw being shown on Heat. But I decided to Google it and wow, that match exists. I dont know how I missed that. H actually appearing on Heat is mind boggling.

The ECW Originals/New Breed hardcore match the week after WrestleMania 23 was probably the best match that 5 of those dudes ever had

Vladimir Koslov had a really good TV match where he went over Undertaker clean 6 weeks before WrestleMania 25. I can't speak for his Japanese work, but Festus has a great undertaker match around this time too, just a pure brawl Worked perfect for their characters, all-action Kozlov and Festus had a great mean guy match in 2008 against each other as well, to bring this full circle
