I feel like it's time I start a thread on this. What are your picks for this year's Gooker Award? Like the thread for last year, I would leave out CM Punk's antics.
Personally, I am not sure what is worthy of the award. One thing I could say might be worthy of being a candidate is Britt Baker's unofficial face turn and being the Outcasts' B and of course, the infamous T-shirt. I know something like Lacey Evans's sergeant gimmick may be worthy of Wrestlecrap down the road but not sure if it's worthy of the Gooker Award.
What do you think?

Jimmy Uso going back to Roman Reigns.

After some mulling it over I think I'd give it to the Lesnar / Lashley feud.

It'll most likely be CM Punk I feel like
But I'll nominate QTV...unless that was 2022 but I don't think it was

Nothing that crappy happened this year? Maybe the Mountain Dew match, but I don't think that would be in the best taste after losing Bray

Maybe Tyrus as champ or his bullrope match finale... The Rise and Mostly Fall of Top Dolla? Enjoyment levels varied, but I'd have to think that Jeff Jarrett's Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch feels like the most classic example of the genre.

But it probably has to be CM Punk. I mean if Vince's "brass rings" won it one year.

Tyrus as NWA champ has to be it.
The CM Punk shenanigans were worse but that wasn't really a booking decision.

If going by “booking decision I didn’t care for” definition then giving CM Punk his own show comfortably finishes above not finishing the story and keeping Lashley & LA Knight off mania.
If going by “incident, angle, character or storyline too outrageous and dumb even for pro wrestling” definition then backstage at All In probably wins, the unfortunate timing of the roll of quarters angle and Tyrus’ lack of fitness in his last match makes them contenders.
WWE generally had a good year for avoiding this type of wrestlecrap but still contributed Shane’s mania antics and wasn’t there an attempted murder on nxt recently?

Booking him at all after the press conference and aftermath…giving him his own damned show even…and then having him almost immediately do it again on your biggest night ever no less… There are booking decisions in there

Tyrus by a mile. The man couldn't work ten years ago but by God, let's make him the NWA champion since it will create 'buzz.' I'm not even mentioning the fact that he is a repulsive human being.

The only thing that hurts Tyrus is that no one really watches NWA. Otherwise that should be it running away.

There was at least the potential of a payoff in the sense that CM Punk is a star, and the guy he was squaring off with was Moxley. That feud could have been a good one if Moxley wasn't looking to take time off to heal and Punk wasn't.... Well, Punk. I can see why TK went that way even if it wasn't the call I would've made. I can't really see any upshot to making a fat, old, lethargic ass dickhead like Tyrus champion. There are some talented people in the NWA, and others on the Indies who would've jumped at the chance. Corgan giving it to him anyways seemed, to me, more like a reflection of the beliefs Corgan holds and wants to push than a wise business decision.

I'm not talking about the Interim thing. I'm talking about what he was trying to do on Collision.

Tyrus as NWA Champion gets my vote.
Honestly, setting aside his IRL behavior, What was the point of making him champion? Whatever talent he had by this point was long gone (remember that tweet of him botching running the ropes?) and Corgan insulting fans who balked at that idea also felt like a big middle finger as well.
I also saw the full Bullrope match as well yesterday...and the only good thing I can say about it was EC3 finally retiring him.

Tyrus.
Though I'm sure Impact going back to TNA would have to be in the running for the sheer WTF.

It'll be CM Punk or it'll be some completly un-fun gripe about WWE again because it's the Gooker and nothing is going to be on the voters' radar over the usual grudge settling shit. That's been the nature of the poll for years, back when literally just a summation of TNA's most deranged and shamblef*** year still lost out to like, a Wresltemania being really bad. Tyrus should sweep but too many peopel won't care or even remember it beyond 'oh yeah something about the NWA champion whatever I don't watch it'.
