I'm proud of you for finally trading your old phone in. I have a corded land line phone on the wall in the kitchen. Canceled my landline last week finally. Might leave the phone on the wall as decoration. My aunt and uncle still had the old pick up the horn and crank it before you can talk to the operator and tell her who you wanna speak with him phone their wall. Like I used to see on Lassie from the 50's. It may still be there, they don't live there anymore, but still own the house. Maybe I should ask.

I can't believe napkins are still a thing. I thought for sure by now the mouth vacuum would have become a reality.

But do remember learning how to dial on a rotary dial phone.

By grandparents had a rotary upstairs pretty much until they swapped to wireless then the original touch tone went up there.
I never really got the kids will never be able to figure out how they work aspect of it... They're pretty straight forward devices

Then by the time I was 5 the one in the kitchen got replaced witha touch tone phone. But my maternal grandmother kept a rotary dial phone in her bedroom until they moved in spring of 2007.

I have that exact feeling whenever they announce a new season of Law and Order: SVU. Especially considering they seemed to have already run out of new ideas about ten years ago, when I last watched. I mean, as long as "true crime" is still a thing, I'm sure there will always be a spot for SVU.

You'll love this. My aunt and uncle had one of those old phones you had to crank to dial the operator on their wall for years and years. Pretty sure it stopped working somewhere around 1980 or earlier. When I was a kid we had a "party line", so not every single person had a dedicated phone number. You'd have to pick up the phone and hope your neighbour, possibly miles away, wasn't already talking. See? I'm not just making fun of you for being old, I'm old too.

See? I'm not just making fun of you for being old, I'm old too. I remember party lines. Had one from when I was born till they phasedd them out in the mid 90s. Started off with us and a neighbor down the road on the same line. Then that family moved and the new family in the same home got a regular line. So for 10 years or more was on a party line with no one else. Hell even now most of the winter I heat the house using the fire place in the living room. Got central heat but it dries out my sinus. Easier to get a decent fire started at say 10am and keep it going till 11pm.
