Was that a rule in the Trish vs Becky match?
I did like how in war games they explained that leaving causes a forfeit, explaining why it had the open top
I hope this is a hhh move where they get rid of the WWF Cage match rules aka “you win by running away” cage match

…Maybe? I’ll have to look up all the cage matches there’s been over the last year and a half to check and see if the finish was by escape.

Pretty sure it's only an NXT thing because they did it with the Waller / Bron match too.

I am in the minority here, but I am not a fan of the Owen and Bret cage match. I don't like how both opponents were trying to escape the cage as fast and as often as possible, in a blood feud. Owen maybe. Bret no.

So if you cannot win by escape, then why was the freaking door unlocked?
Just so they can do that overused interference spot.

Kia said “forget this, I’m out of here”, so you could spin it as she just had enough and was fine with just leaving. Probably the agents and commentators had different edicts on the match type.

I don't know if I want the rule gone in general, but I do like when it's not the only way to win.

I don't know if I want the rule gone in general, but I do like when it's not the only way to win. I think maybe if you want a similar "climb out and walk away" effect, but you don't want it to look like "the coward running away", you do 10-count Last Man Standing rules, but completely within the cage. That way the match ends with the visual knockout, instead of a pinfall.

With Heck in A Cell becoming a thing, I'm ok with the escape the cage rule. They need to bring back the big blue cage from time to time.

Good. The escape rule sucks. When it's the only way to win, it makes you wonder if they even wanna hurt each other. When it's combined with pinfalls, you're left wondering "Why try to escape? The oponent has been down for so long, just pin them".
I hope they apply the War Games "escape is forfeit" rule to every cage match from now on.

Put me in the camp of no escaping the cage.
I mean, it worked when you had Bruno beat the living piss out of someone so badly he could just simply waltz out the door.
But that won't work anymore. So I like the forfeit rule.

We need a reverse cage match. I have the wonderful privilege of informing you that TNA in 08 did this with a Knockouts Queen of The Cage match which started as a reverse cage match where I think the first 2 girls that got in had a normal match after or something
