I kind of want to lump the entire ST together just as a further reminder how much all those f***heads dropped the ball but it’s rise of Skywalker. Doesn’t even feel like a movie.
The holiday special is entertaining as all hell depending how u look at it.

It's Rise of Skywalker by a significant distance.
A movie so bad three of its lead actors swore off ever working on a Star Wars production again.
A movie that literally went out of its way to incorporate every plot point from a post on the Fandom Menace subreddit.
A movie that removed the opening scene, setting up the main antagonist, so it could be used in Fortnite.

Rise of Skywalker is not the only flawed movie in the series, but as the supposed culmination and capper to the entire thing, that's the worst one in my book.
A real crushing disappointment, clumsily and ignorantly trampling over previous successes in trying to tick boxes. Damn near killed off my lifelong Star Wars fandom for a while, there.

This one has had me curious for a while. At the risk of opening a can of worms, is someone able to explain in layman's terms, what many people find so objectionable about Last Jedi?
I ask this as someone who likes Star Wars, but wouldn't call myself a fan. Like I've seen all the movies, but don't deeply care about them, y'know? So to me as a detached viewer, Last Jedi just felt like a fun time.
Whereas I could immediately identify TROS as a narratively-bankrupt bag of crap so that's sort of the low bar for Bad for me.

My biggest issue is it goes back against its own message. He’s not able to put his money where his mouth is cuz Disney. Cuz trilogy. It’s so disappointing because the film is absolutely beautiful. Directed well. But just doesn’t deliver on what it promises to fulfill.

The Phantom Menace. Come on now. Come the f*** on, it's by far the worst. People jump to the "George Lucas wanted to make a KIDS movie" defense - yeah because children love movies about land trade disputes. The dialogue is awful, Jar Jar is just as awful now as he was in '99 and - outside of the score - this movie has NOTHING going for it. I used to believe The Phantom Menace was the worst. It's not great, but Darth Maul is cool enough to bring it above Attack of the Clones for me. Watching Padme ignore red flag after red flag after red flag after red flag is infuriating. That's about how I feel. Like neither Episode I or II are good movies, but at least Episode I had a fun lightsaber fight set to an amazing Williams composition going for it. Episode II didn't even have that.

So to me as a detached viewer, Last Jedi just felt like a fun time. Whereas I could immediately identify TROS as a narratively-bankrupt bag of crap so that's sort of the low bar for Bad for me. For me it's the fact that Luke Skywalker, a man who believed so much in the redemption of his own Sith father that he threw his own lightsaber down and was ready to die, decides to strike down his nephew, if even for a second, because he has a vague vision he'd end his Jedi Order. Mind you Luke ALSO learned in Episode V that visions in the Force are unreliable and acting on them could be what brings the events to fruition. So a Jedi Master like himself wouldn't pay the visions mind regardless. Then there's the fact that it was so obvious that there was zero thought put into any overarching story for the trilogy. Then the side quest Fin takes that ends up being entirely pointless, introducing side characters that end up being again pointless. Then there was killing off Luke because he used the Force too hard or something. Or the fact they baited and switched audiences about him and he ended up being really unlikeable and completely uninterested in the universe at large. Then the fact that the big drama of the Resistance between the commander and Poe could have been resolved by her just TELLING him what the big plan was considering there was zero reason to do so and the fleet out of gas story was dumb as hell in the first place. I have more but if you can't tell, I HATED the film. I could do the same for ROS TBH. So many plot holes and stupid ass crap in those films. Force Awakens looks like a masterpiece in comparison where it's biggest sins was the fact it was just a blatant rip off of A New Hope. For all of the issues with Phantom Menace, at least you can say it was an original story to the universe at least and had the upper hand of having an amazing 3rd act fight.

I still dislike the Phantom Menace, but it seems a lot better after watching Last Jedi and Skywalker. Out of those two I think Last Jedi is the worst by a fairly slim margin, although I have to recognise that Skywalker is a complete bodge of a repair job.

For me, The Last Jedi is a good movie but also the hardest one to rewatch. It's heavier and bleaker than even Empire Strikes Back, but The Rise of Skywalker doesn't deliver the same catharsis that Return of the Jedi did. ROTJ was the perfect sequel to ESB while TROS was a kneejerk reaction to whiny fanboys.

Quick aside: has Rian Johnson ever gone on record to say what his reaction was to Mark Hamill telling him “I fundamentally disagree with every thing you’ve done to my character.”?

AOTC is the worst one I have seen. I think it’s slightly worse than TPM. Still haven’t seen Rise. Didn’t like TFA or Last Jedi, so just didn’t bother.

ROTJ was the perfect sequel to ESB while TROS was a kneejerk reaction to whiny fanboys. Seconded. For me, Last Jedi is the second best of the Disney Star Wars movies, and far superior than all three of the prequels, but Rise of Skywalker being such a cynical concession to a crowd that have done nothing but whine and moan about every single Disney Star Wars production really sucked out a lot of the enthusiasm I had from the entire thing. Adam Driver's comments solidify just how badly Disney and LucasFilm botched it: The first two movies did a great job of that. He kills Han, usurps Snoke, and pushes Luke into sacrificing himself. Then it gets undercut by the Palpatine reveal.

Why not include all the options in the poll? Heck, the Holiday Special shouldn't count. And even if it did, it was done at a fraction of the budget, after the first movie came out.
There's plenty of contenders;
Return of the Jedi - while I wouldn't ever be someone to say so, if we limit it to the OT, it's a massive step down from the first 2. I don't like the Ewoks, but I am also not a fan of needing another Death Star, as well as not having anything cool for Han Solo to do. The Luke and Vader arc was great though.
The Phantom Menace - for the amount of time we waited for this...this was a messy way to start. There isn't one particular problem here, but more of just a lot of misfires as far as the final product goes. I don't even want to say it was too ambitious, but I would have preferred Episode 1 beginning with the events of AoC and added some of the elements of Phantom there in order to make that story interesting.
Attack of the Clones - I mentioned "interesting story" and this movie wasn't. In fact I was so disappointed after Phantom Menace came out, that I didn't even see this movie until a couple hours until I saw Episode 3. It was completely forgettable. The amount of time spent on the convoluted love story...it was awful. I also hated seeing Yoda with a lightsaber, and the 50's diner just made me look away from the screen. Just awful.
Revenge of the Sith - I wouldn't include this either considering it is the best of the prequels, but that isn't anything to brag about considering I think all 3 are terrible. This is definitely one of the most overrated things I've ever watched, and I found myself laughing at the sad or dark moments. I go back to what I said before, this story should have been Episode 2, with the start of the Rebellion being Episode 3, therefore ending the prequels on a better note. It was funny to try to end this movie by trying to tie is as close to Episode 4 as much as they could, including just introducing Tarkin out of nowhere.
The Force Awakens - I'll say this, I was over Star Wars when this came out. I didn't even see any trailers or read anything about it prior to the release. I saw it opening day with my best friend simply on a whim. Admittedly I did try to find positives about it when it first began, but a lot of the annoying Marvel style started to bleed through. I know it's cliche at this point to say this was a soft reboot of A New Hope, but again I can't overlook it. One thing I was going to say that I found SUPER annoying was when Han and Chewbacca were communicating, I hated that Chewy had to respond to EVERYTHING. In A New Hope, Chewy really only spoke when he was angry or someone was talking about money...he was the strong silent type. I hated hearing Wookie talk more here than I did in the Holiday Special.
The Last Jedi - So one thing that we did after seeing Force Awakens was get food, and it was a JOY to listen to my friend complain about the movie...making the experience almost worthwhile. So I figured...why not do the same here? Oh boy. So I'll just cut to the chase...this movie has a lot of problems, many more than I rather get into, but the one thing...the ONE thing that I never ever wanted the Star Wars movies to do...was kill Luke. And this movie did it twice. First they killed the character that we were familiar with in the original trilogy, making him just a miserable old man, someone who we weren't even allowed to see grieve the death of his friend Han. And then they kill him off literally at the end of the movie. What's the point? Is the Star Wars franchise there just to have a rotating door of good guys only to fall to the new bad guy? Luke was the ultimate good guy, and it wasn't worth it. Luke overcame everything...a character that was overwhelmed with tragedy throughout his entire life...and this is how it ends for him? How stupid. What a good message for anyone who was looking up to him. Have a miserable life where your friends and family are killed, do good anyways, then sacrifice yourself after spending your final years in misery. How fun. The movie would have been terrible without this, but just taking an iconic character and needing to kill them off because they're old or you don't know what to do with them...awful. Awful. Awful. Awful.
The Rise of Skywalker - so awful from what I heard, I had no reason to check it out.
I didn't see the other movies, because they didn't matter.

The Stars Wars fandom seems so miserable that I'm convinced all of them are considered the worst at some point. There are a vocal minority that make it seem that way for sure, for me though, a couple movies isn't enough to kill my love for the franchise. I still love all the shows that have come out and I'm one of the absolute few that actually liked Solo. I just hate films that insult my intelligence and are poorly written.

TROS I went to London for the premiere of TROS. Spent the night queuing up on the cold streets to get a wristband for it (and 4am in the middle of December is cold.) Got my wristband, went to the premiere, got photos and autographs from many of the cast. I have never been as disappointed in a movie as I was with TROS. I know people who love every other Star Wars movie and I know people who hate every other Star Wars movie. But I've never met anyone who loves TROS.[/b]

The Stars Wars fandom seems so miserable that I'm convinced all of them are considered the worst at some point. It can be. There's so much Star Wars out there that it's pretty unlikely that any fan will like every single thing. It's fine to not like a thing but a lot of fans don't seem to understand that and get personally offended when something isn't exactly to their tastes. It's unfortunately also been hijacked by some of the worst people who instead of just disliking things, have to frame it as a crusade against "woke" and all that jazz.

Episode 3....
Wait let me explain.
Born in hte middle of the summer of 74. Star Wars was one of the first movies I saw at a theater, was a drive in. Huge fan,got the toys, got the bed sheets. Buy the comics. Watch the Holiday Special when it airs.
Empire comes out HOLY f*** this is amazing. Get more toys get Star Wars video games for my Atari 2600.
Return of the Jedi comes out,ok yea first half is great after that it isnt so great. But still I am all in. Still buying the comics. Reading the Han Solo trilogy novels and the Lando ones. Splinter in the Minds eye.
From then until Episode 3 I still loved Star Wars. By the time Episode 3 came out I was a 2 pack a day smoker. But when I went to see a movie in a theater I could sit there 3 hours no need for a cig.
After Episode 1 and 2 being OK at best I didn't bother going opening weekend to see 3. Went middle of the week at like 11am. Took 3 smoke breaks during hte film. When it came out on home video bought it and watched it one more time.
Years pass the first of the Disney trilogy comes out. Go see it and it is good. But whatever passion I had for this franchise died with episode 3.
Haven't bothered seeing another Star wars film since Episode 7. Watched none of the shows. And haven't went back and watched any of the old films in at least a decade now.

On that note, some of the original ideas Lucas had on how he wanted to end the original trilogy were wild. In one of them, the Emperor was a well-meaning autocrat who got sidelined by the Imperial military machine and ministers who would secretly aid the Rebellion. In another, Vader and Luke were going to have their final confrontation on the Imperial homeworld (called Had Abbadon), which was surrounded by a defense ring of gold Death Stars. Though like what eventually became Coruscant, it, too was a city-planet.
