Of course we're all forgetting about probably one of the biggest Heyman guy fails, even if it was between Lesnar's runs: We got POMES, a big Hershey's chocolate bar, a meeting with Snitsky, and Michael Cole getting humped.

...because he could only talk about Brock Lesnar? This right here. Even when he was cutting promos for Axel, Cesaro, or Ryback; it always came back to Brock.

WWE didn't want to push Cesaro, Ryback or Axel at that point, and Heyman was better utilized with other talent. After Cesaro won the Andre battle royal, they took away his theme. Has anyone ever gotten over without a theme? It just felt like intentional sabotage. Don’t they take away the swing to at the time iirc

I mean when you force something, people see that it's forced.
Ryback was a forced heel turn because they figured Heyman would help draw heat.
Axel was forced because he honestly wasn't very good on his own in any department.
And Cesaro was forced because they didn't know what to do with the guy.
As a fan...I saw right through it. They didn't fit, and Heyman had bigger things to worry about as far as clients go.

Man I'm still bummed about Cesaro. I envisioned him as a kind of Jason Statham Transporter-esque specialist.

Don’t they take away the swing to at the time iirc They did when he turned heel because it was getting over The best part was they had just given Cesaro a “King of Swing” shirt modeled on the old King of the Ring logo and then pulled it because they wouldn’t let him do the move.

They really dropped the ball with Cesaro. He could’ve been the next Bruno Sammartino. All they had to do was have him watch tapes and adopt Bruno mannnerisms to his own…

Curtis Axel had no chance from the jump. The crowd was excited for a new "Paul Heyman Guy," either a debut, a callup from NXT, or an established superstar. What they didn't expect - and the silence he received upon arrival proved just that - was a repackaged Michael McGillicutty, who'd already been floundering on the main roster for three years.
To make matters worse for Axel, he was IMMEDIATELY - like, five minutes after debuting - slapped in the face and made to look like a punk by Triple H, who stood over him and told him he was going to kick his ass. The nail was in the coffin right then and there.

Because they weren't shoot Heyman guys. We knew it and it felt wrong. It didn't feel organic like with Brock, Punk or Roman.

With Cesaro, as stated Heyman basically stood there and talked about how great Brock was without mentioning Cesaro at all.
On top of that, they gave him a nickname, new entrance music, and merchandise based on the Big Swing... and then told him to stop doing it.

Cesaro: Vince sabotaged it like he did with anyone that got over without his permission Ryback: is Ryback Axel: has the charisma of bread I've passed my fair share of bakeries. Fresh baked bread is absolutely a better draw than McGillicutty ever was.

Cesaro: Afterthought to BRAWK LESNAR.
Axel: No one had time to forget THAT NXT promo vs Kaval. "Kaval. That means flute, right? What's the deal with your wrestling gear! You going swimming or something?" Then, this guy "wins" against Triple H three times (each time getting trounced and winning on technicalities). Yeah, no. This was doomed from the start. This is coming from someone who loved Axel.
Ryback: We wanted to be fed no more of him.
