Well now that I've calmed down a bit I look forward to him going to the most obvious destination, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Massive deferred deal of course.

Yeah, I think it’s WWE. The whole “abrupt nature” comment in NJPW’s annnouncement and the way Okada’s quote is worded makes me think he won’t be back for awhile. But then you had Tony tweeting it’s gonna be a great year. Who knows.

I don't really see an opening for him in WWE right now either. He's not gonna win the Rumble, he's not gonna win either world title right now, I don't really see them throwing anything to the side even for Okada right now
AEW's World Title scene is more wide open then it's ever been and has a lot more avenues. Like Joe vs Okada would be a really good must see match they could realistically do, among other things like All In, where mania wise I don't know if Okada would find a mainstay match right now without some drastic re-writing.
Money will talk if that's where he wants to go, I just see the trajectory as higher for him, especially right now. Even take a 3 or so year deal with AEW and see how it goes.

Gedo was too slow trying to build the younger guys. Not having Okada put some people over in 2023 was a mistake. I remember when he put over JONAH and then JONAH also just immediately left...

With how rough Naito and Tanahashi look in the ring nowadays, definitely time to get off their ass and start making stars. Easier said than done though! There was a new star being built but then House of Torture wrestled them... rest is sadly history “Put the title on EVIL, you say? Sounds good to me!”-Gedo, probably

First shock.
Second TNA has been promising something big (or was), has money, and people would know Okada since they have NJPW follow them in the States. He would only have to come over for the bulk tapings and then head back to Japan.

Pass me the bottle. Where ever he goes though, is it too much to ask for Balloon Okada to make an appearance at some point again?

Top of my head you could put him up against Owens, AJ, or Orton. All of them are major stars who don't really seem to have much going on for Mania. Also we kind of all have to see a Rainmaker countered into an RKO at some point.

Okada/Gunther would be quite the way for him to start a WWE career. Just saying. Not disagreeing about the AEW Title, but it’s not like he’d be lost in the shuffle in WWE.

If my theory of TNA wanting to get back onto more mainstream TV is correct, then if they somehow swung and got Okada... yeah that'd help lol

Gedo was too slow trying to build the younger guys. Not having Okada put some people over in 2023 was a mistake. Him winning those back to back G1s felt like a “they really don’t have anything else, do they?” moment, seems even worse in hindsight now.

Depends on what the plans for GUNTHER are... I really want them to call Ijla up already and do that for Mania.

With how many of my Angels have played for you guys, this bottle is just as much yours as it is mine my man lol. As for Okada, I don't wanna jump in and be like "HE'S GOING TO WWE" but this doesn't feel similar to how Ospreay's departure has felt and if he really wanted to do more AEW work he could've stayed with NJPW. He would have no reason to pack up, trademark shit and head out. This screams WWE and I don't like it.

Fairly shocking, but when it was announced his deal was coming up, I wasn't super surprised cause it sounded like the idea of doing something new was appealing to Okada. THere's nothing really left for him to do with New Japan.
My first bet would be Okada goes freelance. Do some tours with NOAH, DDT, All Japan just for fresh match ups.
If he goes to an American company I'd still say AEW would be the favorite as Okada has been fairly open about not wanting to relocate. Not saying WWE is a no especially with Nakamura there (who Okada does look up to), but I just think family and creative freedom would be his choice
