End of an era. Wherever he goes, he's a made man.

Ospreay got paid money Okada will never see in Japan. That was that,
Great for him. Terrible for New Japan.
Great for the ROH six man tag titles I guess.

He needs to show up on NWA Power, hop the railing, take out the gimp, and tear up his NJPW contract.

Holy shit that nuts. Looking forward to seeing where he goes next. Hopefully they treat him like the star he is.

Were people not following any of this? Writing has been on the wall in marker for a while. He hired an American agent. He trademarked “Rainmaker”. He saw Ospreay get a boatload and said naw…

Althouh Forbidden Door is soon to just be New Japan guys wrestling former New Japan guys if he does. Maybe close the door, guys.

Oh my god... this is huge news. The biggest news that could possibly happen
This isn't like when White left, or when Punk got fired. Okada's been the biggest name of the past decade.
This is a massive blow to New Japan.

I hope he gets the biggest bag possible but as much as I like WWE a lot lately, I am going to have a stomachache if I see him walk out at the Rumble. I don't trust WWE to present him as he should and hell, I'm not sure I'd trust AEW either. That is insane.

New Japan still has plenty of star power to face AEW talent on that PPV yearly. I mean Impact also still does crossover with them, don't see either of those stopping.

It's a massive blow to New Japan for sure but this is going to force a massive shift in their booking. There's no waiting anymore. The new generation needs to step up and take over.

I'm genuinely shocked considering his wife is a pretty famous voice actress and they have a young child, so I thought he'd want to stay in Japan.
If it's purely about money, then I guess it's down to WWE and AEW. Unless Cyberfight or AJPW makes an insane offer to keep him in Japan.

I agree that once Ospreay got that deal I felt Okada might test the waters
WWE might have an outside chance but I think if he can get similar money and a similar deal to Ospreay, he's going to take it, and AEW will of course treat him like the megastar he is
I think Tony Khan's "2024 is going to be an amazing year" Tweet like four hours ago makes more sense now if I'm being honest...

I’ve spent the last six months bitching about Gedo’s slow playing of Tsuji, Shooter and Uemura for a reason. It wasn’t business as usual. They needed to make some genuine stars. Not book 50/50 G1 draws.

No way any other promotion in Japan could afford him without having to cut over half their roster.

Man oh man, I can only imagine how much NJPW is panicking. Or should be panicking even if they thought it was possible.

Great for the ROH six man tag titles I guess. Isn't Okada 1/3rd of the current NEVER Openweight 6 Man Champs? Not like he'd be unfamiliar lol
