Plus GUNTHER works the chops into the psychology of the match and tries to land then, while his opponents try to dodge them. Also Bret wrestled after the whole Goldberg debacle so I'm not sure why is he still beefing with him. Also didn't Bret praised Gunther vs. Sheamus after their PPV match? Dude is welcomed to his opinion but I thought he did. No he said he hated it.

Well, now, my dream. scenario is Dwayne brings in Hitman to run one of the shows to one up Triple H and HBK in petty rivalry.

And the people that retired 20 years before Bret Hart would have said the same about his contemporaries. As will the ones that come 20 years after this generation retire and so on and so on. True, but that doesn't make any of them wrong. It's all just preference when you get down to it. Though it's hard to argue Bret's point that if it hurts for real, that kind of goes against what pro wrestling is supposed to be. But the style preferences all come down to personal taste. thing is, most wrestling moves probably hurt to some degree. A back bump is in the moment less painful than a chop, but the pain from a chop will be gone by the end of a match and day in, day out bumping contributed to entire generations of wrestlers walking around with bum bags full of OxyContin. People that have actually wrestled, correct me if I'm wrong but does a correctly taken superplex knock the wind out of you?

Suzuki goes out there where 80% of his moves are chops where he doesn't have to bump. Sometimes someone finds a style that is both entertaining to the crowd and extends their own career. As for the chops actually hurting, wrestling as a whole hurts and chops leave no long term damage.

Offhand Gunther beat Ciampa with a chop once and I'm pretty sure there was a main roster match where he also won with one.

I'm one of those that feels the current style requires more obvious cooperation than it should, but I also realize that is my preference, and other people have their own preferences. So I try not to shit on it. Isn't that why they make chocloate and vanilla ice cream? Because you like shitty ice cream? Anyway, while my tastes I may agree with Bret there, I can't agree with him on chops. As someone else said, wrestling hurts in general, and a chop doesn't generally do long term damage - except maybe to Kofi...I think his divided chest was from a Big Show chop.

Also, Rhea ain't gonna f*** ya. You can compliment a performer without wanting sex as the end game. Bret said absolutely nothing creepy. Reactions like this come off gross.

I'm sure Cena would be the first guy to tell you he wasn't the best hold-for-hold grappler, but far as I'm concerned the dude's lariats sure as hell looked like death. He loosened up his headlocks because he was choking people out for real with the STFU. I get Bret's point on this one generally but there's a reason why it happens

He's absolutely correct about the scripted promos. One of the things I hate the most about WWE is how every promo sounds so...very...deliberate, and it just doesn't sound good, it doesn't sound convincing or interesting. I would rather a wrestler just winged it and made a balls of what they were trying to say because there's something a bit more believable about that.
I'm sort of inclined to agree a bit on all of the planchas onto the floor too. Not necessarily because I object to them being unrealistic - I watch and enjoy a lot of silly and unrealistic wrestling - but because it's just very overdone. It's the kind of spot that works very occasionally, but the amount things like that happen in multi-man matches, it just makes it seem very contrived.

The diving onto people standing around waiting has its value when it comes to people that can't wrestle very well. It's a simple, effective move that pops the crowd and is very safe. But nobody who's actually any good should be using it.

I don't know why it's so damn funny to me, but I'll never stop laughing at the fact that he always calls him "Bill Goldberg," instead of just "Goldberg." The same reason why he said "The WCW" probably Or "the Summerslam."

In a vacuum yes and I don't think he's being creepy here but this is the guy who famously said he wasn't a fan of older women's wrestling because "who ever got a boner watching Mae Young wrestle?", called Melina the best wrestler in the world because he thought she was hot and said he didn't believe Rita Chatterton's allegations against Vince because she wasn't attractive enough for anyone to do that too. He's said some messed up stuff about women.

He's said some messed up stuff about women. Those comments were all bad-to-terrible, but weren't they all from over a decade ago? He seems to have grown a lot in perspective with age. Point being, regardless Bret's history, it's gross (and tone deaf considering the current major wrestling news stories) to jump from Bret giving a talent a high compliment that isn't creepy/sleazy at all to "she ain't gonna f*** ya."

Yeah, not like he has a history of shit comments about womens' wrestlers greatness based on their looks and trying to sleep with them. So yeah, screw that and him. I'll say it again, Rhea ain't looking to f*** ya Bret.

It kind of tickles me how seemingly all of Bret's generation of wrestlers just HAAAAAATES that dive onto a bunch of guys spot. I wonder what spot the current crop of wrestlers will hate 20 years from now.

You entered a conversation about a woman wrestler, where nothing disrespectful had been said, and made a tacky comment.
