Ethan Page is my top answer to this question for sure. He's in his prime, really solid in-ring, and is great on the microphone. On paper, he has absolutely everything you want in a professional wrestler and I would argue that he has always delivered on the rare occasions he's been given an opportunity to show it (main eventing against Kenny Omega in Canada as one example). Almost every other wrestler that hasn't clicked in AEW there's some obvious reason why. Joey Janela wasn't willing to shake the indie mentality and grow with the company, Andrade and Malakai noticeably didn't/don't want to be there, Miro is perfectly willing to sit on the sidelines for months the second he doesn't like the booking, Lance Archer is in his late 40s and has injury issues, PAC has had to deal with extended absences due to injury and visa issues, etc...
But Ego? I just can't figure it out except that for some reason Tony seems to prefer guys like Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta to him. I know I'm only one person with some, at times, contrarian opinions, but Ego being signed by WWE and becoming an LA Knight style success story would get me tuning in again, at least initially. I love the guy.

I thought Miro would have been World Champ by now, but he had a decent run as TNT champ.
I really thought Santana & Ortiz would have been multiple time champions or at least a cornerstone of the tag team division, unfortunately it didn't work out.

Ethan Page is someone where I don't really get why they signed him in the first place since it's never come off like TK is even slightly interested in actually using him for anything. Like, I don't really get his appeal myself admittedly, but it really does just come off like they signed him entirely to keep WWE from doing so. Hes someone who I'm sure was only signed because Cody was pestering Tony to bring him in, I remember back in early 2020 Cody saying how good Ethan was and how he really wanted him in AEW.
He was one of Cody's "guys"
Certainly falls in line with how Tony doesn't seem interested in doing much with him

Speaking of Ethan, is he hurt again or is he back to ROH? Because it seemed like he was primed and ready to get another shot in AEW just to go away again real quick.

It felt like they were cooking something with Page and Omega, but it went poof when Kenny got diverticulitis.
Yet they soldiered on with Undisputed Kingdom despite both the leader and target of their ire being out of action with serious injuries.

I know he's not doing bad but I really thought AEW needed Danielson to be world champion for at least a month, kinda like when Shawn Michaels returned from injury: win the title, drop it a month after, be a believable challenger forever.

I looked through Cagematch and they only bring him out for the Canada shows. They heat him up a little bit, big match in Canada, then drop him back off in ROH where he spins his wheels. I know the roster is bloated to the gills, but he could ai least be spinning his wheels on Collision after that Kenny match.

It's just how the business goes.

I know we shit on him constantly but Scorpio Sky just seemed ready for the main event I quite like Scorpio Sky. Judging by the reactions he was getting at the time, if they had commited to turning him babyface when Sammy started to get go away heat, he would've been super over. Instead they decided to force both of them into their respective roles only for Sammy to turn heel afterward anyway and then have Wardlow murder Scorpio.

That's a Danielson thing. They offered him the title when Mox won after Brawl Out and he said no.

I'm surprised Lance Archer hasn't been mentioned yet. For me he was the only hoss AEW have done really well at some point. Then he just...didn't exist.

Not committing to the babyface turn for Sky in that godawful ATT vs Sammy Guevara feud was a huge mistake and a missed opportunity. We were even starting to transition from treating him as Hot Gamer Takes Scorpio Sky to Reasonable Gamer Takes Scorpio Sky.
Alas, they kept him heel LIKE A HEATHEN. And then he got hurt. And then got hurt again shortly after coming back from the last injury.

Ethan Page is one of those guys I can recognize has a lot of talent and probably should be used more, but also someone I myself kinda shrug my shoulders at. AEW just has so much talent and he doesn't really stand out to me amongst them.
Miro is someone I thought would have been world champ by now but seems to be a guy who's only creative plans for himself involves winning the title and then just not losing, while being cucked by his wife in the story. Starting to see why Tony didn't go all in on him.

I really liked the babyface promo Ethan Page did before his match with MJF on Collision. I thought it'd lead to big things for him.

I think Ethan's more talented and a better promo than guys like Sammy, Wheeler and honestly, he might even be better than some of the dudes in Undisputed Kingdom, but I get it. Different strokes for different folks.

Starting to see why Tony didn't go all in on him. Miro's entire career arc baffles me. Everyone is excited to see what he does freed from the chains of "Either he's a Cold War-era Eastern Bloc stereotype, or he's being cucked by his wife.", to see what he does with AEW's creative freedom. Well, he comes in as "The Best Man", Kip Sabian's gamer buddy who drags a MAME Cabinet (or possibly a Pandora's Box) around with him everywhere. Not off to a great start. Then he gets some momentum going doing his "Redeemer" gimmick, but that stalls out after he loses the TNT belt. So now, Miro's got to pitch his own idea, his make-or-break angle. ...which is him getting cucked by his wife, AGAIN. Like, that's approaching Aron Rex levels of 'oof'.
