I’ve already seen social media comments on the Thunderbolt Patterson announcement saying things like, “Never heard of him.”
And if you haven’t, fine. He was finishing up as cable was really starting to boom, and obviously WWE hasn’t utilized its collection of libraries in a way that would make him (and many others) familiar to fans.
But instead of a smart ass dismissal, try a simple Google search. Read some info, watch some YouTube videos.
Maybe it shouldn’t, but things like that annoy me.

I won't lie, my only experience with Thunderbolt Patterson has been his match at Slamboree '93. I knew nothing about him before, and know just about the same thirty years later. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna brush him off like he isn't important either.

Meltzer has broken the news that Lia Maivia is going in. That leaves one name left on the leak. {Spoiler}We're getting the Bray announcement Friday or Monday. He ain't getting a Twitter announcement, he's getting an announcement on Smackdown or Raw.

So here's who I'm thinking inducts each one:
Paul Heyman: Roman Reigns
Bull Nakano: Madusa
US Express: Beefcake and Valentine
Muhammad Ali: Not sure about this one,,maybe Mike Tyson?
Thunderbolt Patterson: Another tough one, looking at his wiki page his main feuds were with Boris Malenko and Jose Lothario, neither of whom are still with us (you could get Dean Malenko maybe)
Lia Maivia: The Rock
Bray Wyatt: Either Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss, or Erick Rowan,,maybe all 3 of them (they did a multiple inductors one for Eddie Guerrero).

For Thunderbolt, maybe Manny Fernandez? They teamed once Ole turned on T-bolt, and they feuded with the Anderson’s over the National Tag Titles.

{Spoiler}Other than being related to the Rock, I'm not sure why Lia Maivia would be in the HOF. If I am reading the wiki page right, she took over as promoter of the Polynesian federation when her husband died and it went out of business 6 years later? Plus, she was accused of extortion at one time? I'm not feeling one of the last potential nominees.

I'm not feeling one of the last potential nominees. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}She was accused by another promoter, in what was probably motivated by trying to take her out of the equation, and she did beat the charge. As for the promotion going out of business 6 years later, it was wrestling in the 1980s, and most of the territories were dying. That'd be like saying Jim Crockett was a bad promoter because of his mistakes that caused him to need to sell to Ted Turner. It's more complicated than that.
That said, is this being done to placate Rock? Yes. Is it undeserved? I do not think so, but I'm also the kind of person who thinks Gordon Solie was being overdramatic about Lanny Poffo being inducted into WCW's Hall of Fame, so maybe I am soft-hearted.

Outside of Thunderbolt and Bull...I'm not feeling this class at all. Highly underwhelming.

Are they ever gonna induct Batista into the Hall Of Fame? I’m sure it’ll happen at some point; one factor is likely whether or not he has any movie projects around WrestleMania time. I remember that one year, he was in South Africa for a movie so that obviously took him out of consideration. As for Thunderbolt, my first time hearing about him was on the Nickelodeon show My Brother and Me. The dad on the show was a huge wrestling fan and mentioned him on one episode.

I didn't go up to his table, but I saw Thunderbolt at a autograph signing at a couple of years ago at the Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling HOF. I don't remember him having no limbs or a bunch of artificial ones, so surprised to hear that.

I think it's honestly pretty hard to argue against anyone being inducted this year (save maybe Windham since he's already in) Even without ECW Paul was a big Manager and commentator for a major period of time. Add ECW he highlighted the entire style of Wrestling that took over the late 90's Rotunda is a journeyman wrestler who was pretty much over wherever he went, including a memorable stint in the WWE as IRS that is well remembered enough he can still come out in his suspenders and tie to this day. (and I half expect a Tax day Joke, when he's inducted.) Windham does deserve to be in... but like I said he's already in with The Horsemen.

My predictions: Paul Heyman: CM Punk (it wouldn't be the wrong route to have Reigns induct him, but I think WWE will want to avoid turning this into "Bloodline Night at the Hall of Fame" especially considering their role heading into WrestleMania weekend) Bull Nakano: Madusa (yep, nothing to dispute here) U.S. Express: Kendall Windham (this is a tough one because Bo Dallas would make sense, but you'll see I picked him for another inductee) Muhammad Ali: Hulk Hogan (I don't like it, but Hogan was the star of the WrestleMania I main event and he's always referencing Muhammad Ali and his impact on pro wrestling) Thunderbolt Patterson: The New Day (Thunderbolt Patterson was an important voice in the fight against racial discrimination in professional wrestling, so it would be appropriate to have three of the most prominent Black WWE superstars induct him) Lia Maivia: The Rock (nothing to dispute here, although I hope the Philadelphia fans are decent while he's inducting his grandmother) Bray Wyatt: Bo Dallas (he's Bray's brother, I think that speaks for itself)

I don't disagree with you per se, but it's become a routine of categories, which in most cases I agree with who they induct...but without derailing the thread, I think you don't need to limit it to one female a year, or one tag team, etc. Just induct those who are deserving without trying to champion one metric of that class at a time. I guess the big downer for me is the headliner, if the leak is true. WWE has a habit of inducting someone the moment they die or retire, and while I don't disagree with the induction, it always comes across as "get it done as soon as possible" when it isn't going to make a difference with the deceased. I think there are other headliners that are out there that could have been used, and they could have saved this year's headliner for later.

I do agree I don't really like the "1 tag, 1 female, 1 manager," setup they do... as people that deserve won't for awhile as they have someone else they want to induct.
Like Rotunda getting in as the US express instead of solo, means a team like the Natural Disasters have to wait another year to potentially get inducted.

I think Tiny Lister (Zeus) should go in the Celebrity Wing someday.
Bray will probably be inducted by his Dad and Bo.

And I just now realized Paul E. is the final member of the WCW version of the Dangerous Alliance to be inducted too.

Weird that Luger's not being inducted for this year.
Batista's induction being delayed as many times as it has been is, too.

Weird that Luger's not being inducted for this year. Batista's induction being delayed as many times as it has been is, too. Batista wants to be inducted while a crowd is there, that's why 2020 was out. He's also been busy the last few years with shooting films. Big Dave will go in, hopefully his schedule is clear next year.
