Do you think you would have enjoyed being a teenager more now in modern times then you did in the years you were?
I was a rather introverted teenager back in the late 80's and early 90's so I think I would have had better teen years now since there is more to do when you are by yourself.

If I got a different father, yes.
You can have rainbow hair and wear a collar in school now. Not only would you have been expelled for that when I was a teen, you'd have been committed to a mental hospital.
If I had the same father, hell no. TikTok alone would have caused me to have a psychotic break at that age.

I didn't have extreme daily internet access until I got a Laptop in my freshman year of high school
So I have to imagine it would have been way crazier in terms of social media viewing if I was a teen right now where internet access is commonplace through several devices (Which I have now)

Hell no.
Glad I grew up before everyone had a caamera on them. Before you couldnt leave the house without a phone on ya.
Now there is no way I could have done as much as I did. No more telling Mom I'm going to crash at Jason's house for the weekend, and instead we went to NOLA and hit a concert.

I'd be glued to my phone, so no. Not that I enjoyed them then either.

I kind of wish it was the other way and I lived by teenage years earlier. Like in the 1980s when I could have seen so many great musicians in their prime. Or in the 1880s when I’d have a wife and three kids by 19.

No way in the blue hell.
The music , movies and the overall culture of the 90s was has always felt like it was crafted out of a dream of my personal tastes and social media basically was non exsistent and being able to go an arcade at the dead of night and see it packed with friends or just people you knew.

Nah I really enjoyed my teenage years all considering. That and it was the late 90s so had some of that sweet prime wrestling going on and it wasn’t being spoiled for me.

Nah, don't miss it, as a teen I was a mass egotist who didn't think he needed anybody.
Today I'm a mass egotist with a few friends.

I don't think so but I'd be a very different person as a result so it's hard to tell. There's a lot of things I'd have liked but overall I'm glad I grew up before the Internet was so pervasive.
For instance Spotify would have been amazing compared to my Walkman but music has less importance these days. I'd have so many more online resources to learn guitar but would I ever have picked one up?
All the easily accessible wrestling sounds perfect but would I still be a fan without the attitude era hitting at the right time and it's popularity at school?
So many of my fondest memories stem from alleviating boredom. Hell I doubt I'd walk to school which alone removes hours of hanging out and talking shit.
I'm certainly glad there's no record of most of my teen stupidity.

Who knows? I'm shy in approaching people but still back then as a teen I was so far down the depth chart of the friend group I wanted to be I wasn't asked to hang out much. Maybe with a bit more digital areas or a cellphone that they could text me quickly I might have been asked to hang out more but again who knows with less in person hang outs these days (supposedly) but maybe I'd feel like I'd have more friends with online video game playing and voice chat

Being a teenager now seems like a nightmare. Social media alone would probably make it a lot worse.

Being a teenager now seems like a nightmare. Social media alone would probably make it a lot worse. Given the shit I see on social media? Yes, I have to imagine for a lot of Teenagers it's a nightmare The people these kids/teens also look up to these days in terms of the social media influencer world is harrowing. I have legit seen kids in the supermarket begging their Mom to buy them or find them Logan Paul's PRIME Energy Drink and nothing else...

Dear god no. So much easier to find porn nowadays, I'd lose the time when I figured things out and searched for it. I'd lose out on figuring out how to keep things quiet and not get caught!

I don’t know, more distractions today I probably would have done awful in school, or with research materials easier to obtain maybe I would have done better, no idea. Seeing how traumatic some people’s teen years are I think I got off pretty easy, so I’ll stick with being a teen in The late 90s

No way. People only being able to bully me in school and not have access to me on the internet was a blessing.
