I was getting pretty bored with him but I cannot lie. This learning tree shit with the trunks, FTW matches, and him being an aloof prat are enjoyable.

After many weeks of being one of the worst parts of the show I can't believe he was the highlight this week. He was close to Regal's old shtick with his waves to the crowd.
The hockey pucks were great and he should bring back the nhl style jersey with a tree logo. A barbed wire hockey stick has to be used too.
That's the trouble with booking Jericho, the lows are awful but he can still hit some highs, only they both often come when you expect the opposite.

That match with Shibata was the most I enjoyed a Jericho match in years.

I.....
He's supposed to be CM Punk, isn't he?
Harping about people being under him like a learning tree. Him being so obnoxiously sincere and deluded it raises red flags? HIM CARRYING AROUND A (kinda) FAKE BELT?
Him dropping "Jericho Vortex" references as something POSITIVE is giving me life, I can't lie.

I think the only thing I don't like about this new character (besides Jericho in trunks) is losing Judas. Say what you will about Fozzy, but it's probably the most iconic theme in AEW and has the ability to wake the deadest crowd up.
If it's leaning towards Jericho in a more managerial role though? It's a sacrifice I'm willing to take.

Private Party is doomed to forever bounce between alliances with people who you almost never get elevated under because the plans never coalesce into anything that lets them break out or get a push.

I love them but Quen was hurt for soooooo long. I think that was the thing that really has kept them out of more long term stories.

I mean Quen was hurt for like two and a half years, that didn't really help. It'll get them on TV and give them something more hopefully as characters, there's nowhere to really go but up for them.

So. All in favor of Jericho being at least tolerable if they keep him in hardcore matches?

Said it elsewhere but it was that match with Atlantis Jr that ended his run of stinkers, most of his matches since then have been decent. I think he was down over the general low morale in AEW post All In or even post Brawl Out with the company's actions being frequently scrutinized and criticized. Add in the Hausman allegations and possible problems in his personal life and he was in a funk and became unmotivated, sloppy in-ring and sluggish creatively if he has gotten through this then good for him.

The accusations from a hack like Hausman did nothing You Sure? Because as soon as he said what he did, which was right before a PPV. The crowd turned on him in a major way and hasn't gone back. There a lot of social media "warriors" who still believe it even though Hausman went back on his comment and denied it was the only name brought up in Kylie Rae. Nobody ever said who, where, when, and what he did. Kylie Rae never said anything herself but people ran with a emoji comment. The thing is the IWC is more of the AEW fan base than WWE where it seems that stuff effects AEW way more.

Yeah, this is absolutely a credit where it's due situation: Jericho's just too damn good at this whole pro graps thing to not figure something out after awhile and make a gimmick and angle that works, and the Learning Tree idea is working amazingly so far.
And yes, it's absolutely a shot at CM Punk, and why the hell not.

The accusations from a hack like Hausman did nothing Chris Jericho, a married man with 3 either teen or adult children, was accused of not only cheating on his wife but of leveraging his power and position for sex. Which is legally rape in most, if not all, of the US and Canada. I feel it's pretty hard for any of us on this website to know how much it did or didn't affect him, his family and his personal life.
