Did anything important happen on SmackDown at all from the end of the brand extension in 2011 through the 2016 WWE Draft and SmackDown airing live?
It was such a nothing show during that time period, barely a step above Main Event. It was the dumping grounds for mid-carders whose rivalries weren't important enough to get air time on Raw.
I suppose it's no coincidence during this time period that SmackDown was bouncing around networks and time slots in this five-year window.

Well, we did get Wade Barrett and Randy Orton fighting in an elevator.

I remember a shield promo on Seth trying to motivate Dean and Roman when they were fighting

This, and the state of Collision is why I’m always flabbergasted that people want to end the brand split completely at times.

I don’t have a problem with the brand split, but I think it can be set up better. One world champ, one women’s champ (alternate between ppvs). Tag titles on smack down, maybe a trios title on Raw

Wasn't 2011 Smackdown the Mark Henry House of Pain stuff?

I think The Shield's first loss was on Smackdown in 2013 but yeah in general it was a pretty nothing era. Gun to my head I don't think I could tell you anything from 2014 or 2015 on Smackdown without looking it up. I'm pretty sure in those days Cena would do all his stuff on Raw and barely ever appear on Smackdown and that show would be carried by the lower tier main eventers.
It's unusual for a B show to tumble in relevance and climbs it's way back out like Smackdown did. Normally once that "this show is skippable and doesn't matter all that much" feeling arrives the stigma sticks and that's the spot it stays in but it came back in 2016 then basically became number 1 in 2019. It'll be interesting to see what is considered the main show when Raw is on Netflix and Smackdown is on USA. I think it might go back to like the early days of the new brand split in 2016 when there was no clear number 1 and they were both around the same level.

The Christian/Del Rio feud over the WHC in the summer of 2013 is the best title feud no one gives a shit about. Their SummerSlam match is legitimately a classic but it was immediately proceeding Punk/Lesnar and Cena/Bryan.

It was a pretty dreadful show most of the time, but I think we were at least getting one really good match per show
EDIT: Like, say what you will about Collision and it's relevance but you can rarely say it's a bad show.

I'm losing it that my post is basically the same thing. What the f***. That puts everything in perspective; the era is so forgettable that even old thread talking about how unmemorable it was get forgotten.

I thought Smackdown in 2011 was great with the feud with Orton vs. Christian and the rise of Mark Henry to the World title.

Undertaker had his last TV match on Smackdown in 2013 against Dean Ambrose. I was lucky enough to see it live.

95% of the time, it was a nothing show. But every once in a while you get something like this. Bryan shouting at a crying Show "HOW CAN YOU BE SO RECKLESS? SHE WEIGHS 95 POUNDS, YOU ARE 500 POUNDS" will always be hilarious.

I think some late Shield storyline developments occurred on there, like Triple H explaining why he reformed Evolution to shut them down and Rollins' initial explanation of his sudden betrayal.
