Inspired by Mick Foley’s yearning for one last death match. If he goes through with it I hope he gets all the inspiration to improve his health that he thinks he’ll get from it and suffers no injuries.

There been a few out there. As great of a run Sting had in AEW. The biggest reason why that run even happened was WWE was never going to clear Sting. It seems to be a case by case bases anymore though. Like RVD been talking want to see another match in WWE. He also once said he wouldn't pass the test like Foley couldn't. The Dudleys are hinting something for WM 40. They been wanting a last run. I don't know how D-von would get cleared being he had a stroke.

I dunno about still wrestling but Honky Tonk Man is still rocking his Elvis mullet a cool 35 years after he could have stopped and no one would have cared.

My answer to this for a long time was Lawler, but I think he's quit since that stroke.

Does Bob Orton still wrestle? If so, he’d never be cleared by WWE because of Hepatitis.

One of the saddest things I ever saw I think was Greg Valentine vs. Nikolai Volkoff wrestle on a wrestling mat with no ring....in front of maybe 15 people.
I mean, is the passion...or the payday THAT good?

And with WWE's policies, I could see them getting cold feet about letting him do anything more than some kicks and an X-Factor.

I mean, is the passion...or the payday THAT good? One of the two had said it was because the ring never arrived or something and they felt bad that the fans who had showed up weren't going to get a wrestling show, so they wanted to give them at least something. So I guess you can say passion, a nice gesture for the fans there.

One of the saddest things I ever saw I think was Greg Valentine vs. Nikolai Volkoff wrestle on a wrestling mat with no ring....in front of maybe 15 people. I mean, is the passion...or the payday THAT good? It was Bobby Fulton and Nikolai. I was friends with Nikolai from 2011 to 2018 and actually drove him to the airport to make this show/drove him back. I had read about the "no ring" from this site actually and asked him on the ride to his car. He said it was for the fans but also they were used to things like this from when they were young and first training so they didn't really mind it. That promoter brought Bobby back pretty regularly and Nikolai another time or two. I don't think it was even for shows, I think it was just interview segments. I know Nikolai did an appearance with Bully Busick and Mr. Hughes for the guy. I remember Nikolai liked the guy. Some wrestlers will do anything as long as the promoter is honest and the pay is good.

Honestly? I don't think there is anyone still active they wouldn't bring back for medical reasons. They brought back Bret to work a match when one bad bump could have destroyed his remaining years. If there is money to be made and the wrestler isn't a complete lunatic, they'll clear them in some capacity for one more match.
Look at the state of the people who've gone to Saudi Arabia for a blood money payday, look at how they kept trotting out Undertaker with no knees and hips for years and years.

Edge and Danielson were never going to be allowed to until they felt that they had no choice but to change their minds. Maybe that’s changed now that Vince is out…but I don’t believe there is anyone they wouldn’t clear if they wanted to keep them from working somewhere else.

Yeah, Valentine took a booking in a no shit backyard wrestling fed. They had a “ring” right next to the tire swing and mom’s petunias.

Yeah, Valentine took a booking in a no shit backyard wrestling fed. They had a “ring” right next to the tire swing and mom’s petunias. I remember that. Buff Bagwell did a similar one with a ring in the backyard with trees. I think Sid did as well but not 100% sure on that. One of the shows I was at with Nikolai, it was him and two other former WWF wrestlers. I don't know if they'd mind fans knowing this so won't mention their names. But I got to be with all three for like an hour or two in a nice second story bar. I don't remember us getting any food and no drinks. But most of that two hours was spent with everyone looking down on the "venue." It was in the back parking lot of this bar. What little fans were there were friends and family. The promoter admitted he had no money from sales to pay them. All three guys kept trying to decide what to do, whether to do a match for what little fans were there and go home. It was a hot summer day, no money, no attempt to make it right except a "promise" of a check in the mail so one former WWF wrestler said he was leaving and the other two left. I think Nikolai may have gotten paid because he did an autograph show with the guy another time. I don't think he remembered it being the same promoter. Said there was no crowd for his autograph but he got paid well. Our next show was a show with Shane Douglas, Tito and Nikolai. Decent crowd but lots of friends and family. All three were going to do an in ring photo op but no fans lined up. Only Shane went in the ring and no one wanted a picture. That was sad.
