CM Punk bigging up Jim Cornette in 2024 and making a "lol you wear a skirt" joke to Mcintyre again shows us the type of guy he is. Mcintyre is killing it though, he's 100% the babyface to me in this whole feud. I did like Drew responding to that with "It's 2024, do you want to get canceled?" And, yeah, I know, a lot of people are gonna cringe at that, but I thought that specifically as a reponse to Punk, it worked.

It felt like it was three guys having a blast on the mic, IMO. I'm sure these guys aren't going to ever be friends off camera, but I have a feeling they are at the very least comfortable enough with each other that they can really push the envelope with each other. I thought it was great. F'ing Drew is killing it as a heel. He's such a prick that it's enjoyable.

Drew is absolutely killing this and I will be livid if he doesn’t win the title at Mania in front of actual fans in a stadium!
Also:
“You want to know what I think?” “No”
Couldn’t stop laughing. The Eminem Stan reference also killed me.

Mostly great segment. Punk looked like the megastar he is and does kind of overshadow the other two, though I could have done without the drug at Seth Rollins wearing high heeled boots as that didn't help anybody.
I don't mind the skirt jokes. That's just classic Piper-Heenan stuff and I think wearing a kilt outside of a wedding or formal occasion leaves you open for jokes.
Also Punk bringing up his famous quote to The Rock was.... interesting given that he lost that match...

This was great. Punk was the star but Drew was right up there with him. Seth not as good but by no means bad either. It looked like they were all having a blast.

Drew has been imbued with the powers of Silky Johnson. Don't get in a war of words, because he’s bringing a nuke.
Punk's line about not needing someone else's name on his shirt to sell it, was pretty damn strong, though.

With that said, either Punk was holding back or he’s slipping a bit on the mic. There was a moment where he was trying to set the crowd up for a CM Punk chant (something like “tell him who you paid to see” or something like that) and the crowd completely no sold it. Drew is great on the mic and is quick witted. It felt like he was already slipping in AEW; a lot of his material on the first half of his run felt less than inspired once the initial comeback shine wore off where only the MJF stuff was ever that captivating, and once he came back post-scrum he got into his baffling Collision work that was an absolute headscratcher some weeks. CM Punk is really good at cutting comeback promos, which he's been able to keep doing because he keeps getting injured and f***ing up, but I think the cracks show when he's outside of it. Some good lines, some good moments, but he feels like he's in a hold cycle where people listen to him because he's seen as someone you listen to, rather than someone who can unflinchingly command the room's attention.

Punk shouting out Corny really cemented his three-year-long arc of going from my favorite wrestler to easily my least favorite wrestler (excluding those who have committed violent felonies) of all time.
But, holy shit, the "who chose you" line had my jaw on the floor in a way that very little wrestling content ever has. I can't believe they let him reference Vince so directly.

Got to see some of the segment, and I'll start out with the good:
-WWE having more off the cuff promos. The reduction of overly scripted and buzzword-laden stuff since Vince faded away has to be a gigantic breath of fresh air for the audience. -Drew has a well-defined character, here; he's someone who was initially told the world was his, had it taken away to the point he was buried and released, he worked like a bastard to build himself up even more, climbed the mountain to legitimately become a top guy...and now it feels like it's all being taken away again, despite the fact he propped things up during one the hardest times in wrestling history to be a champion.
What gets me, though, is that when I see segments like this I think it just hits me more and more that long in-ring promo segments just don't really excite me very much. They have a purpose sometimes, but of all the things I can see on a wrestling show, they're what I look forward to the least, in any company (much prefer shorter promos; still feel the most iconic ones in history were usually short). I'd feel differently if I thought most promos like that were being used to build up the way the match they're hyping up is going to be fought, impact the eventual storytelling/psychology in some way, but too often it feels like they want us to be there for a rap battle, get the audience reacting to disses that, in the end, won't really change much about the feud itself or the eventual match.
I suppose they could overcome that here and use this to make the Wrestlemania match/angles feel shaped by it all, but when you see a particular style of segment done well and realize "shit, that didn't do much for me", I guess it gives you a better idea of where your personal tastes lie.

Drew continues to be one the best things in wrestling today. But it does still seem like Punk has lost his fastball, and the Cornette mention only makes me further my dislike of a guy who was once a favorite of mine.

That was a great segment, and it seemed like there was a bunch of ab libbing which made it even better. A promo where you react based on the crowd and common sense rather than scripted talking points is very noticeable. Rollins not only seemed to drag things down but he comes off as a massive heel, which may or may not be the intention. I want Drew to kick Seth’s ass either way. I thought Punk's promo the night after the Rumble was the best one he's had in a couple years and it made me start liking him again, but the stuff he was resorting to last night also made me remember why I stopped enjoying his mic work in AEW. I did love the segment though, this feud between the three of them reminds me of something from 1997 WWF.

For his sake I hope Punk isn't slipping on the mic, because what else does he even offer at this point?

Everything with Punk and Drew was sick (Cornette shoutout aside, wtf). Two dudes feeding off each other's energy, evidently given a long leash and told to just go out and deliver.
Then Seth comes out and couldn't have been a bigger dork. Just dragged it all down back to paint-by-numbers promo work.
