You guys know that you can listen to someone’s podcast without adopting their personality and beliefs right? If you're doing free advertising for a bigot, it really doesn't matter if you're doing it because your beliefs line up with his or if you just like the dude for other reasons - either way you're still advertising a bigot. Don't care how many virtue signaling t-shirts Punk wants to wear (which he's worn none of since returning to WWE, naturally), he has no credibility and deserves no benefit of the doubt. And it's not like his views aren't in the show. That's not some guy with a dodgy personal life having an otherwise normal wrestlepodcast; Jim's entire brand has been built on his views since almost two decades ago when his shoot interviews were going viral, and his show is the specific platform for his awful, bigoted comments and his declarations of violence and hatred toward people in the wrestling industry. Like, I for one would not want present myself as a gay ally publicly while also shouting out a podcast where there's a non-zero chance some unacceptable homophobe shit gets slung around on the basis of "I don't like this guy and so it's okay if I say awful shit about him".

Seth was just kinda there, and between using “lol you wear a skirt” as an insult and namedropping Cornette’s podcasts Punk continues to show who he really is as a person beneath his progressive facade. But Drew continues to be fantastic and is basically carrying Raw’s title scene on his back. Strap him up and pay him whatever he wants because he’s more than earned it. You guys know that you can listen to someone’s podcast without adopting their personality and beliefs right? 💯💯💯

You guys know that you can listen to someone’s podcast without adopting their personality and beliefs right? 💯💯💯 Legitimate question, why do some people feel the need to advocate for Jim Cornette here every time he's (very rightfully) torn down? Just like genuinely curious what you think going "WELL I DON'T AGREE WITH HIM BUT I LISTEN TO HIS STUFF" does on a Proboard that legitimately hates him so much we had an edict on his gross rhetoric's becoming main thread topics... years ago now. If you wanna listen to the guy, be my guest, be everyone's guest, you do you, but don't be shocked when people side eye you that you're openly trying to rationalize, publicly, that you watch an openly racist, bigoted, bully of a man, because he "might be entertaining" and "It doesn't mean I endorse those things I just wanna hear about x and y". You're giving him your view because you think what he's saying is interesting or funny in one pocket, but you're endorsing him, every part that comes with it. You can't just selectively leave the parts you wanna ignore behind when he is THIS forceful and frontal about them at all times, in my honest opinion.

Don't worry, I'm sure Punk will wear a shirt or take a picture the next time he needs to paper his bad behavior backstage. It's fine. Hell of a segment though.

The part where Punk was daring Drew to say McMahons name was hilarious. I was howling when Drew was trying not to laugh.

It made sense but sadly it will just encourage the most toxic fans /podcaster now. Wish he wouldnt have said that. By toxic fans i dont mean Punk fans. It's all just more evidence of the giant hypocrite he is and how fake he is. He's supposed to be this super progressive guy but he's giving shoutouts on live TV to a noted racist and misogynist and making "lol gay" jokes at Drew for wearing a kilt. Like you said, it will just encourage that toxic section of fans now. The kilt thing is a callback to Piper's opponents calling his kilt a skirt. As for Cornette, where does the racist talk come from? I'd like to hear more than just IWC talk though, like actual instances. Don't get me wrong telling New Jack to piss off white people sounds bad today but wrestlers and promoters played up stuff like that because it drew money in certain towns. I'd like to know other instances, I don't listen to his whole podcast, but I do parts of it that interest me so maybe I missed something

I think that’ll be a huge “what if?” to look back on when Drew’s career wraps up. He seems like a genuinely smart & funny guy with great presence and a ton of charisma, yet they’ve always booked him as these bland characters when he could have been a more positive Kevin Nash that can actually wrestle.

That was a great segment. As far as the current roster being entertaining, I had Roman, Cody and Punk on the highest level. Lately Seth has almost been on par with them. For all the talk of rock coming in and taking views, he’s bringing in lots of eyes. The roster was already lit before, there’s a real sense of competitiveness it feels, within the talent. Now’s the time to essentially go for it.

And he's not the heavy for Dolph Ziggler, a dude who was heatless thanks to years of stop/start pushes.

Pulled from an old post I had forever forever forever ago because time is a flat circle and we will never escape:
From episode 303: "I don't understand the Asian school girl fetish with the 98-pound champion pro wrestling being Riho-diculous and the legendary Emi Sakura [...] she looked like Margaret Cho. [...] They come up with a discount Margaret Cho that nobody's ever heard of because she's a legend for training all these other girls that nobody's ever heard of, except Kenny Olivier, who has an Asian schoolgirl fetish."
From episode 304: "Because Kenny Olivier has a Japanese school girl anime fetish, we've all got to suffer."
And a new one that made the rounds last year, apparently from episode 134: "We don't want a bunch of f***in' interchangeable Japanese guys who we can not understand what the f*** words are coming out of their mouth...doing f***ing wrestling."
Corny has problems with the idea of Asian people on TV.

So, a few lowlights: - The horrific Islamophobic rant (itself a response to someone calling out his backwards attitudes) that lost him his producer and had MLW having to apologise and distance themselves from him. - The racist joke that got him fired from NWA commentary. He tried to say it wasn't a racist joke but a “starvation joke”. Which of course makes it all ok in his eyes, because apparently the famine in Ethopia was hilarious to him. - The videos of him bragging about a time when he antagonised a black man by using the n-word multiple times. Pretty easy to find though horrific to hear especially since he's practically giggling with glee at his own racism. - Pretty much everything he's ever said about female Japanese wrestlers, fetishising and infantilising them. Equal parts racism and misogyny here. - On that note, saying that Jade Cargill looked like "Shelton Benjamin with a wig".

The Cornette defenses are disappointing but unsurprising, and it's one of those "you know others can see you liked a rancid post" moments too :/
It's also always hilarious that Cornette stans and defenders generally treat calling out his shit as magnitudes worse than anything he says, kindly old Uncle Jim can say whatever hateful shit he wants but you're the problem if you're mean to him or people who like him!!!
