I rewatched a Matt Hardy match, and I forgot how much I absolutely HATE that middle rope elbow to the head that he does.
I hate that does his little pose thing as if he is going to do something cool and then just leaps off the middle rope and clonks the opponent lightly on the head with his elbow. Like a kid trying to impress his parents by jumping into the pool but can't do a flip or anything actually impressive so just jumps in, whilst the parents watch and say in that false cheery voice "great job Chip!" whilst actually wishing the little shit would shut up and just swim so they can go back to sunbathing and listening to the Chilli Peppers in peace.
I think it is my least favorite move in wrestling because of how anti-climatic it is. He does the pose and you think "Ohhhh he's gonna do something cool" and he does that. What a let down. No wonder up until he became Broken, Matt was regarded as the doofus Hardy Boy. Jeff does the same pose and hits a cool Swanton or the Whisper in the Wind. Matt does it and jumps off the second rope to clonk an elbow to the head. I think it was the move that meant I could never like Matt Hardy. I mean, he could have done something--ANYTHING better. He was a decent wrestler and fairly athletic. He could have done a diving hurracanrana. He could have done a crossbody. He could have done a senton to a standing opponent. He could have done a middle-rope version of the rough rider. Anything would have been more impressive than that. I think it would have been fine without the pose. If he just did it as a snap middle-rope move without the theatrics--not impressive, but at least not a massive let down.

the keg stand that chance/carter do because it is stupid and is just asking for a huge injury
not the super kick or standing kicks but the little foot tap people sometimes do with like, their whole foot. i’ve seen it used to set up a stomp and some other moves, I really don’t know what the move would be called except just a kick but it takes me out of the match entirely, hate it
the wackyline was infuriating
never liked the judas effect
stomp not to the nuts but the inside of the thigh

Turns out that jumping arse-first onto a hard wooden floor twice a week for 10 years is not good for the spine, and it’s why he only does the elbow strike now.

The suicide dive.
The move itself is fine, I just hate how overdone it is, and how when wrestlers do it now they immediately spring up and do the FIGHTING SPIRIT~! face rather than sell the suicide aspect of it.

He was doing it in the mid 2000s, when he still busted out the leg drop. But, then just get rid of the spot completely. He looks such a goof doing that pose and then hitting the lamest move in the world.

Any move where they add stupid flourishes to make it look more impressive when it actually makes it look less effective.
Was watching last week's Impact and Kushida bounces off the ropes, does a backflip, and then kicks prone James Drake in the face. He could have just kicked him in the face 3-4 times in the time it took him to do that other stupid shit which added nothing to the move.

Rey Mysterio's top rope splash where he limply falls on top of his opponent and they have to sell it like an absolute death.

The Overdrive is a shit move. Too much set-up for a whole lot of nothing.
Also, the Flying Nothing! It's such an obvious telegraph. Can't the guy diving just hold up his arms for like an axe-handle or something?

Any variation of the Spanish Fly, because commentary can't get the call right.

Same energy as Ryback's bottom rope falling splash.

Del Rio's old top rope stomp he used as his finisher. Other people have used it too, so he is not the only one.

The "indy-standoff" I think is the unofficial term for mine.
You know the thing. It's always like you do an arm-drag, I do an arm-drag, you do a dropkick, I do a dropkick, we both maybe try some flippy thing, land on our feet at the same time then we look at each other and wait for the crowd to applaud. There's not even really a pretence of it being a fight. It's one of the most obvious "I'm watching a choreographed routine and not a simulated battle" spots there is outside of like when people stand around awkwardly obviously waiting for someone to hit a dive on them.
I remember actually loving it the first time I saw it I think during an RVD/Jerry Lynn ECW match but over the years it's just become like the equivalent of an old bit in comedy that used to be novel but becomes hacky.

Hurricanranas almost always look like utter shit. I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone release their legs too early and then the other wrestler just awkwardly flips.

He only did it once that I know of. But that time PAC climbed from the top ringpad to the actual turnbuckle. The turnbuckle was maybe 6 inches higher than the top pad. But PAC took a good minute climbing up onto it and getting his feet positioned just right so that he could hit a much lower and sloppier moonsault than his usual moonsault onto a bunch of guys who stood there for a minute just waiting for him. And the AEW fans went nuts for it. I'm way more pro- than anti-AEW but when they do something so contrived and stupid and the fans act like it was awesome, the second hand embarrassment is real.

Thankfully it rarely happens down this way. Saw two guys try it on a tiny show down in Kiln maybe 12 years ago. They did it perfectly. The crowd sat there silent. Then someone in the locker room started a "What's this shit" chant. I really really hate the Stunner now. See it too often as a nothing move that might get a 2 count at best.
