Oh, that's a horrible number for discourse. Not because it's a bad figure, but because it's in that sweet spot of being enough of an increase that you could call it a success, but not so high that it's an objective and obvious success. That the show was kinda steady throughout is a good sign though. There aren't many people who just watched the footage and nothing else. Kind of a weird situation Doomposters and pearl clutchers can't say a bunch of people spiked for the Punk footage and left, they can't say it drew insanely so they can also laugh and go "SEE NOBODY CARED", yet there was still a bump, so people did in fact care, and minute by minute it might've been the peak of the show But the show also carried steady and didn't die a death afterward which is what they REALLY wanted to see so they could decry AEW a dead in the water product much like they're doing online and any time Tony tweets anymore So all in all the footage doesn't seem to have really done anything substantial and maybe that's for the best I have no problem with you man, and I appreciate you wishing me the best when I mentioned the mental health crisis I'm currently going through, but being called a doomposter, pearl clutcher, or have all my takes be called "bad faith" just because I think something is stupid or didn't benefit the company is really off putting.

My concern with the rating is not so much the actual number itself, but the fact they obviously got new/different people to tune in for the Punk stuff but then surrounded it with one of the weirdest more badly produced shows I've ever seen them do.
Their production team is really letting them down at the moment. The wonky cameras, shooting the ceiling, minutes of dead air.
Will any of those people who came for the All In stuff stick around based on what else they saw? Time will tell.

feels like this might be a worse outcome than it being some super low number. next week is gonna say it all imo One week of ratings will never say it all. Now that won’t stop the internet from doing so, but still.

They've gotta do something to get people watching the end segments. I notice it keeps dipping by then every week. Advertise a Butcher match. Bam. When are WWE or AEW gonna hire me.

Now that won’t stop the internet from doing so, but still. not in terms of the company as a whole and I thought that was obvious but it's all good. i'm speaking in regards to seeing what that segment did, we have to see next week if that even did anything good or bad. we could've had the numbers plummet right after the segment, numbers go way up during the segment but none of that happened, now to see how things are right before a big PPV and if this brought anyone in past the initial deal.

They popped a rating but not enough for the level of discourse around that tape segment. Should have been worth it. Next week won't have that, the discourse is still seemingly "that was a bad move" by most, nah. Good luck to them. Just don't see how it was warranted after all. Lastly the fact that Joe match got the lowest rating is sad. Damn.

I expected the spike for the footage to be higher.
Definitely a win that although the numbers did drop afterward, it actually indicates their core is as stable as ever.

Might as well put this here as the other thread is locked (certainly for the best).
They were right to release the footage to counter the tall tales Punk told in the podcast.
They were wrong to do it on Dynamite as it made them look a wee bit carny, should have just put it on social media.
Comparisons to the fingerpoke of doom are hyperbolic. This will neither lose nor gain fans for AEW and will be quickly forgotten.

Main event always gets the lowest rating, barring overruns, so it's not really on Joe That and it was a forgone conclusion despite how much they tried to pump it up at the beginning of the show, which was the highest viewership of the night In the end I don't think the footage or the discourse is even gonna continue past a week, like most trivial AEW discourse tbh

What a fool Tony "Dracula" Khan must be to think that anything on a tape could ever kickstart the dying, faltering heart of his greatest mistake: AEW itself. The only video of any merit left is watching the tears run down the face of that loathsome cretin as he watches the final piece of his crumbled empire be dragged away in the bankruptcy sale, and I do not hesitate to say that on the eve of such a video, I shall lick my screen to taste the very salt of his tear! I am not ashamed to admit that, for these many suffering nights of being haunted by the dreary ghost of this company's wretched existence must be avenged.

As stupid a creative decision as it was, its importance to WCW's ultimate demise is grossly overstated.

Tony is onto something here with backstage camera footage. Next week he should show backstage cam footage of Buddy Matthews eating food out garbage can. Show Yuka's backstage altercations and they'll triple the ratings. This is the only interesting post to ever appear in a ratings thread.

2,318,000. No, that isn't what Raw got last week. That was 2,362,000. The first number is what AEW got in its last three weeks combined. That is also the lowest total viewership over three weeks in the show's history at its normal run time. Why would you post something that is so obviously factually inaccurate?
