Thanks to the three of ya for the further info, I think I get the gist of it now and why there would be a debate. They have got to get someone else to take these questions instead of HHH. It's weird for such a big company to have their media achilles out like that.

I’ll let a lot of things slide, but I’ll be damned if I’m just going to sit here and let anybody sully the good name of wrestletaint.gov.

Are fans actually angry over this? It seems like such a minor issue. I can understand talk over WWE actually acknowledging news outlets, but it seems like casual shit talk at most. It’s more, like, he shouldn’t be casually shit talking. If we’re talking about Dijak or someone else on the roster, hey, have at it, who cares? HHH is not only the head of creative but also the vice president of talent relations so not only has a connection with PR to talk to different publications and mediums, he’s also basically the most powerful person concerning the product itself not named Nick Khan. This is stuff that feels so basic to not do. And the worst thing is, this has been happening at least since last year’s WrestleMania and nobody has thought for a second to give him some kind of PR training? I’ve seen football managers being bashed for days for doing less. Noted. I thought we were dealing with a case of "How could he? Triple H is evil." In a business where we're talking Vince McMahon and Drew Gulak, I figured a snarky comment from Triple H is small beans.

STOP DOING THESE WEIRD HALF SHOOT HALF KAYFABE PRESS CONFERENCES.
You don't get to want to get praise and pretend you are a real sport with the "mainstream media" and then get cranky when asked a question. It's useless and a waste of time other then jerking yourself off. Not like the nightly news or Sportscenter runs clips

If Triple H wants to trash the news sites that attempt to spoil storylines and leak shit that he doesn’t want out there then I don’t blame him lol. PWInsider handled it well but SRS is acting like a baby I've never liked SRS frankly, not a fan of PWInsider but I'd read their articles long before I'd read SRS personally. Frankly I wouldn't even know what SRS says if it wasn't for FAN.

The one guy who seems to be completely credible and no one questions him is Ariel Helwani.
I wish he would be a guy to break stories and scoops more often. I think they even had him on one of their panel shows and he has access to the talent when he wants them like that Triple H interview after his surgery.

Mentioned in a few other threads, SRS and Mike Johnson have both since confirmed that they received private apologies from WWE and that apparently Triple H's comments were meant more at who was asking the question not at PWI Insider and FIghtful. If people in WWE think it was an issue enough to give apologies privately then it's worth talking about... especially cause like SRS or not, he's not going to throw stuff out there without having everything confirmed.
End of the day, it's not a big deal overall, but again shows that Triple H does have foot in mouth syndrome. Mike Johnson has brushed it off a bit, SRS has too to an extent, but the rest of Fightful has made it quite clear they are not happy.

"We didn't fire the guy, we just let him go after his contract expired"
Jesus Christ, Hunter is an ass. And WWE PR having to apologize to Fightful and PWInsider privately is stupid. The apology should've been as loud as the disrespect!! What a bunch of clowns. I think it's time for WWE to reconsider having these scrums as it's clear that Hunter keeps being an ass on all of them. Either get rid of him from the scrums or get rid of the scrums

I don't remember if Stephanie is officially back at WWE or not with her dad gone, but outside of an occasional tone deaf statement here and there, she's also really good at this PR thing. Triple H is just awful when he faces any sort of question with just a hint of adversity.

Yup, he wants all the praise (which he does mostly deserve, being fair) and none of the criticism.

If he’s this bad at media stuff when the company is white hot and making major bank, what’s he going to be like when he’s under pressure?

Well done Triple H, so eager to bash anyone who doesn't just do puff pieces that the easy lay up of acting like you take reports of harassment seriously and want to remove people responsible for it (something that might come up an awful lot with the current legal processes) completely slipped your grasp.

Like here's a way Triple H could've answered that question without making an ass of himself or shitting on journalists:
"While Mr. Gulak wasn't released like the others named, his contract was expiring at around the same time the company was conducting them. In light of recent revelations, we made the decision to not negotiate for a renewal of his contract. We wish Mr. Gulak well on his future endeavors."
Maybe he could mention that letting his contract expire now doesn't entitle him to the same period of compensation that talents released early from their contracts get, but that might be giving too much away on the business end of things.

If he’s this bad at media stuff when the company is white hot and making major bank, what’s he going to be like when he’s under pressure? That’s it, too. There will be a point in time where stuff doesn’t do as well and another controversy happens because you can’t avoid these things and they at least had the sense for Vince to do interviews in contained environments to avoid another Bob Costas. If HHH is like this for the most softball questions like “Have you read the lawsuit?” and “Was Drew Gulak fired over Ronda Rousey’s accusations against him?”, how will he be like when it’s stuff that’ll affect his position in the company or about someone he works with?

If he’s this bad at media stuff when the company is white hot and making major bank, what’s he going to be like when he’s under pressure? And, thing is? He’s going to be, and it could happen after perfectly good shows. TKO is owned now by a private equity firm; the second the profit arrow doesn’t go up enough, they’ll be all over him. It’s why he was on TV a ton recently: send a message to ownership that he’s central to the company’s success, get across that firing him would have a backfire effect, that kind of thing. Not saying he’ll deserve it if/when it happens, but get used to stuff like this, it’s the nature of being owned by vulture capitalists.

Can’t blame Trips for having that opinion of people who try to stir up trouble for him & the company. He’s passionate & truthful in these press conferences, I’d rather that than constant PR answers.

Triple H is not very good at the PR-type answers, but this seems like the most minor of snipes/gripes here.
