Can’t blame Trips for having that opinion of people who try to stir up trouble for him & the company. He’s passionate & truthful in these press conferences, I’d rather that than constant PR answers. In the context of this story, Fightful only reported what they were told and verified from sources in the company, that Drew Gulak was fired. The call is very much coming from inside the house, the same thing with most stories. And it isn’t even the first time WWE’s fed stories either publicly or anonymously that we know of. In terms of the press conference, he wasn’t even fully truthful in answering the question. He was asked if Drew was fired due to accusations from Ronda, which considering he was yanked off TV and killed in storyline right after News Nation’s interview isn’t something to rule out, and his response was “He wasn’t released, his contract wasn’t renewed” which wasn’t the question asked. The follow up should have been “So why wasn’t his contract renewed? Did it have to do with the Ronda accusations?” Again, if Shawn Michaels is doing a better job at these press events then you are, the guy who got in so many fights backstage with Bret Hart in 1997 alone they were mentioned on WWE TV, then you need to re-evaluate whether you’re cut out for the job you’re in. EDIT: Also to add, if both websites are hearing from WWE PR to say it wasn’t a shot at them, HHH f***ed up. Partially because PR needs to send these press releases to places that’ll actually publish them rather than have discussions on whether people will care about whatever announcement they have for bigger publications.

I feel like that says more about HHH tbh, when he just says so much dumb shit this isn't even a drop in the bucket anymore... we just expect him to say something stupid at this point, I said it in another thread but if Khan said this over the same situation it'd be talked about ad-nauseum for a week and be seen as a death nail for AEW where everyone would "stop watching" in hate circles.
And also the fact this was over Gulak both being a creep to Rousey and ABUSING TRAINEES it's not giving the full context of a "BS Story" it's a legitimate concern and even more so if they weren't gonna fire Gulak over this, just let his contract naturally expire
Like it's a seedy, shitty situation all around, and HHH always does this shit, it's really scuzzy behavior and reminds me of when he was a big crybaby over when he had to handle PR over Velveteen Dream before quietly releasing him. Dude really hates having to deal with tough questions.

is this the same Dave Scherer that throws a daily bitchfit (sometimes more than one a day) about AEW to the point its become apparent he has some sort of personal grudge against Tony Khan?

To the point he will WRITE ARTICLES AND STATEMENTS IN ALL CAPS. TO REALLY CONVEY HOW GRRR ANGRY AND DISGUSTED HE IS OVER THE SITUATION.

I cannot think of a phonier more full of shit person around than HHH so to call him passionate and truthful when this thread is him deliberately avoiding the actual issue at hand to take a shot at news organizations is insane.

Complaining about tribalism and 'the discourse' while trying to turn multiple threads into AEW vs WWE is definitely a choice.

It's just of that he attacked PWI, one of the three big reliable sources along with PWT and the Observer.

Passionately and truthfully dunking on the very same media outlets his company puts stories out through all the time? Every wrestling industry figure who's ever publicly gone after 'the sheets' as being shit-stirrer know-nothings has laundered leaks and spin through all those exact same reporters. It's all snake shit.

Ah yes, Triple H was definitely passionate and truthful when he said he didn’t read the complaint/lawsuit filed against his father in law and the company he works for. Triple H gets around one non softball question during each press conference, and every time it happens he flops around like a fish out of water. One of these days a show is going to be poorly received and he’s going to really show his ass during the press conference.

Complaining about tribalism and 'the discourse' while trying to turn multiple threads into AEW vs WWE is definitely a choice. Like it or not, the "WWE vs. AEW" dynamic is intrinsic to the issue, here. A massive shift in WWE's media game has occurred in the last year or so, largely driven by Nick Khan and his insanely deep connections in the areas of public relations and media contacts, and a key part of their media strategy project has been to shape the "discourse" surrounding both themselves and AEW, that WWE is the "babyface company" while AEW is "incompetent" or whatever other descriptor, and it's very much a job being done by WWE but also enabled by pretty notable chunks of the wrestling journalism scene who want to maintain their access and sources to and within WWE. So when the public face of WWE creative is out and crapping on media outlets, or claiming to have not read the Vince lawsuit, or otherwise evading questions (something even Michaels is guilty of when it comes to people asking about concrete policy changes within WWE post-Vince scandal) while simultaneously using and benefitting from the usually softer coverage of some of those outlets and using those same outlets to shape public perception and narratives about their main opposition, yeah, it's hard to ignore.

2 things.
1)This doesn't have to be WWE vs AEW
2)In fairness if Tony Khan did do this I could probably name 3-4 people who would show up in the AEW forum and keep the thread going to 5-6 times the pages of this thread while complaining that you cannot criticize AEW.
That being said, I don't think this is a WWE issue as much as a Triple H issue.

That being said, I don't think this is a WWE issue as much as a Triple H issue. It’s also a WWE issue if they’re having to try and explain after the fact that it wasn’t intended that way. Especially with people you do a lot of press with as is.

Especially with people you do a lot of press with as is. It’s only really an issue if Fightful and/or PWInsider are not going to publish stories you leak out anymore and you’ve relied on them to do so in the past (which I’m not sure they have), and you can’t find anyone else to do so. It’s not like Fightful is some biased news site that carries WWE’s water and now that’s in jeopardy. The worst part of it imo is actually just demonstrating how Triple H has trouble with any sort of on-the-fly semi-difficult questions at pressers, which has been a theme going back to NXT.

What I keep seeing in this thread.... Now granted he dodges questions no worse than TK so I don't see the point in worrying about it...

The one guy who seems to be completely credible and no one questions him is Ariel Helwani. Not a knock on you but I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen this said about Helwani lol. Can’t say I agree with that statement. But yeah, Hunter saying stupid shit is to be expected.
