The first Mortal Kombat is remembered fondly because of how much controversy it stirred up, it was the first game to really do that. As for the quality OF game, the best Mortal Kombat in arcades was Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and then it all went downhill. Nothing compares to UMK3. The new console games are fun, but they're nowhere near the fun that was had with the 2D originals. Mortal Kombat II>Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

I remember Mat Mania! I never could figure out how to do the People's Elbow in it. What are you talking about, Stokelenny? That game is from about 1984.

I was just trying to be funny, although I totally wish I could deliver the People's Elbow to Coco Savage. That guy was a cheater, a bastard, and a Kamala ripoff! I'd like to give him a Burning Hammer too.....

You ever play Mania Challenge, Lenny? There are actually nifty counters in that game, into an atomic drop or back suplex... first game I'd ever seen with counters. Also, definitely my favourite wrestling game ever... incredibly versatile, and essentially you can come up with your own style... I like to hit a dropkick which ends with me landing on the outside, and also to hit multiple planchas and win by countout.

I remember they had Mania Challenge at an arcade by my house when I was young! I actually had played that before I played Mat Mania. So the main character Dynamite Tommy turned into Player 1! Hmmm, maybe they should turn John Cena's name into Player 1. That would sell a lot of t-shirts!

If only photobucket wasn't being difficult right now, I'd be Player 1 Spike right now.

Mortal Kombat is till fun, provided there is two people playing each other. On it's own, it is just nostalgia really.

I prefered MK over SF because there was only one move (Kano's throwing attack) that I recall that needed to be charged. I never could get the hang of Guile because of that damn charging, and I really wanted to play as Guile!
I just remember MK 2 being better than either game, only to get trumped later on by KI, which I think is my favorite fighting game of all time.

Raw for SNES > Smackdown vs Raw 2007
That has always been my FAVORITE wrestling game. Bret and Owen Hart, Razor Ramon, Luna Vachon, Doink the Clown, and Lex Luger with running forearm, great chair shots, and ref bump!!

I remember being a huge fan of Raw as a little kid. I played it recently, and the button-mashing just got me angry. Plus, after 2 or 3 matches, my hands hurt like a mother!

Damn you all for making me miss the old games! ;D
I'd really like to see a good reproduction of the arcade game Double Dragon II. I have DD for my Genesis and still play it now and then but I liked DD II.
Streets of Rage is the awesome.
The Mat Mania, Mania Challenge and its related games were great for their time. I spent many afternoons playing them at the arcade.
I also liked the WWF arcade style games. Those ate up my coins as well.

Nearly all wrestling games are better than SVR2007 apart from - Raw - RAW 2 - Wrestlemania (Nes) - In your house - Wrestlemania 21
