Gave up on my old wrestling forum/newsgroup - and there was the extra weirdness around here that appealed to me.

Wrestlecrap was one of my favorite vestiges on the net back in the heyday of the late 90's wrestling boom. In fact, I used to frequent Wrestlcrap, Xavier Doom's Slayground (a lost gem, only remembered by a few anymore these days), DDTDigest, and ironically enough, Scoops (and the subsequent parody ScoopTHIS! Anyone who has ever read the SuCasa reports will remember what a comic goldmine that crap was.) Anyways, when WC first built their EZBoard, since I was already a member, it seemed like a natural fit. I just followed the herd when they dumped EZboard for their own proboard. I don't post at any other wrestling boards. I used to hang around a few of them, most notably Kayfabe Memories, but that was a looooong time ago. The feel here is just a bit more lighthearted, and it feels more like "home" to me these days, even though I go through spurts where I don't post as much as I could. Oh man, ScoopsWrestling! That was my first wrestlign site! I was heartbroken the day they announced they were shutting down. I wonder whatever became of the Smarks comic?

I remember Xavier Doom's Slayground, Zod.
Oh and what motivated me to join was a gun to my head.

I was hangin around the board for a few days, and even though I registered in July 2005, I didn't have a post until a year later because of something called AOL sucks!
And then I showed this site to the people known on this board as Eeriebagel and thishowsucks (who really hasn't been on here in like months), and thar you go.

I was reading one of the PPV Flashbacks on Rajah.com (say what you will about that site, but those PPV Flashbacks were great reading) and they mentioned in the Survivor Series 1990 flashback that a site called wrestlecrap could explain more about the Gooker. I searched out the site and read a few things but as I was at work I couldn't read much. I remembered a few months later and saw that the main site was no longer around. One day about 4 years ago by luck really, I found the main site was back up and running. After a few months of lurking I joined up at the Old EZBoard.

I can't remember how I found Wrestlecrap but then I stumbled into the fourm. JudoChoptotheHead was asking if anyone had a picture of that kid who, during the opening of SummerSlam 92, said that the British Bulldog was going to win whether he wanted to or not. I signed up and said I got that.

I don't know. It's hard to resaist. Some of the things that go down here are just too funny. I felt the need to be part of it all. I lurked here for a few years before I decided throw my hat in. Back when all the entries were accessible and Merle Vincent was still with us.

Yeah, me too, ironically. I still remember waiting to listen to the exclusive Jake Roberts phone-in interview after the Heroes of Wrestling that Al Isaaics had on that site. Pretty powerful stuff. It was almost as funny as a parody, but it was also sad when you realized that Jake had some deep, deep issues. What a sad thing to listen to! I also never understood why poor Al wasn't thought of as "legitimate". I mean, he made no excuses for what his site was, and he *did* pull in some good interviews from time to time. But I digress. Also, I have no idea what happened to the Smarks comic. That was pure gold! Aye. 'Twas a shining jewel with a humor only ever matched by WrestleCrap. I still think the correspondence between XD and the "Tape Trading Convict" (who offered his sister's sexual favors for old wrestling tapes) was the best thing I've ever read anywhere on the internet. I mean, really - who could make something like that up?

I'm really curious as to whether or not the old strips are floating around in the ether, and if the guy who drew them has them still. Anyone remember anything about it?

I discovered the old message board the same day that I discovered the wonderful site that is Wrestlecrap.

I found the site a couple of years ago while I was at a different site. Really loved the site, then checked out the forums. It seemed like a cool forum where people get along, so I signed up.

I found the site one day in November of 2005, and the messageboard soon after. I loved the site and wanted to join the board to discuss both the siet and wrestling, as I had yet to encounter a wrestling board that was mostly coherent and articulate. Then of course I saw WCF. Aftr about 7 months lurking I joined.
