Michael Keaton by the largest margin possible. Christian Bale is ok, if you're a woman. Because O'Reilly said so, yeah?

Keaton. The darkest version (which is what Batman is SUPPOSED to be) with the darkest director and soundtrack. I hated BATMAN. But I quite liked BATMAN RETURNS. Crazy-ass movie that works. Yet, BATMAN BEGINS still wins the belt, and Bale FOR DAH WIN!

I thought "Mask of the Phantasm" was the best Batman movie BEGINS is #1, with MOTP and BATMAN RETURNS regularly switching each other for my #2 slot. They all rock.

Because O'Reilly said so, yeah? Say what? Anyone that thought Bale was the best Bats was a vagina. Your words mate. Besides, wasn't Keaton the Batman that was a weirdo in hanging like bats? What a fruitcake and how unmanly, right? Besides, I should have said Limbaugh instead of O'Reilly. Like whenever he goes off on a rant about someone being a draft dodger, and then someone calling in asking about HIS draft exemption* and him calling him/her a lying scumbag. *=Which is silly since he can easily excuse. He had a legitimate, by Army standards, health problem that kept his ass out. Easy to explain, boom. But because of his confrontational attitude towards anyone for daring to ask about it in the first place, he makes it more suspicious than it really is. Think Vince McMahon when he went all physical on that HBO Sports interviewer. Stupid s*** that hurts way more than helps.

Your argument on Bale was silly. I have a nice PENIS and BALLS, and guess what? Bale rules. FTW!

I just didn't quite get your long tangent. I didn't like Christian Bale. I think he looks like a male model for the girls to scream at. He may be cut but he doesn't exactly look tough or scary. I think Michael Keaton's Batman would strike fear into bad guys. I think Christian Bale's Batman is weak. I'm terribly sorry that your opinion differs.

I dig Keaton, but the one problem with Keaton was that with the stiff-ass Batman rubber foam suit, Burton had to use quick cuts and other such tricks to make Batman believeable as a ninja/ass-kicking machine. Again, not Keaton's fault at all. Besides, he helps make that tragic love story in RETURNS work. Hes not #1 Bats for me, but dammit, he's #3, behind Bale/Collroy, and you know what? There's nothing wrong at all with being in such great company.

The Bale version had better fights, but the camera work drove me a little nuts. Lots of quick cuts. Closeup to long. All over the place. It's a different style, I just wish I could've seen more of it. But I've heard people say the same about the first Batman. I hear, "It was so dark, I couldn't see anything," alot.

It's a different style, I just wish I could've seen more of it. But I've heard people say the same about the first Batman. I hear, "It was so dark, I couldn't see anything," alot. See, there is a purpose to all that for BATMAN BEGINS. Take that whole sequence at the docks when Batman beats the crap out of several thugs, but the way its shot, you barely see him...its like a BLUR of coordinated chaos. I marked for that. Plus, with Nolan shooting that 2nd unit footage himself, it feels fresh. Its not the same 2nd unit jobber director who's shot the same fight scenes for years, who's got it down into a cold routine. Nolan's fight cinematography work is sloppy and rough here and there, but the trade-off is worth it. As for BATMAN, I never thought it was "too dark."* Its just, as a kid, I knew Batman as a ninja....and ninjas are quick with reflexes and dealing with their environment. I never got that with Keaton's Batman. Then again, that suit weighed 55 something pounds, so I can't trash Burton and gang too hard on that one, right? *=Want a comic book movie that's too dark to see what the hell is happening? Ang Lee's HULK.

It is incredibly sad that Keaton is getting more votes than Kevin Conroy, the DCAU Batman.

Kevin Conroy. The DCAU for me, now...the people voicing those characters ARE those characters to me.

Christian Bale for me is top quality as you actualy have his backstory and the hows and why of Batman.
Keaton is good, but it never really shows how he can beat up thugs so easily. Who trained him etc ...
Conroy is good, but end of the day that batman is made by the cartoon animator not just the voice.
Clooney, Kilmer are both fairly terrible.
Adam West is just pure comedy, but that was it was meant to be, so it's fun.
So ....
Best Batman
1 Bale 2 Keaton 3 Conroy 4 West 5 Clooney 6 Kilmer
Best Bruce Wayne
1 Bale 2 West 3 Conroy 4. Keaton 5. Clooney 6. Kilmer
