Since rra is renowned for his witty and dead on movie reviews, I figured we could start a thread asking his thoughts on some movies he hasn't reviewed yet, or we haven't seen him review anyways.
I'll start off. What are your thoughts on Wild Wild West, starring Will Smith?
I enjoyed it myself.

I for one enjoyed the giant f***ing spider in the third act. Brilliant idea, I wish more movies had giant f***ing spiders in the third act.

I thought it was a horrible movie until I saw the giant spider. Then, I thought it was a horrible movie with a giant spider. ;D

I'll start off. What are your thoughts on Wild Wild West, starring Will Smith? I enjoyed it myself. What a great topic idea, and since I face Jed Shaffer's dilemma....my infamous 15 page waiting-list would take until 2010, I'm sure, for me to review every movie I want to job. This will give people a good appetizer until the main meal...if it ever arrives. Oh god, WILD WILD WEST. I loved the TV show as a kid. I mean, its 007 meets the Western. What's not to like? Well, the movie is MEN IN BLACK meets the Western, and it sucks. The joke of MIB was the humor of aliens living among us and working in the same crappy jobs that we blame Mexicans for stealing from us. Hell, it's INS meets GHOSTBUSTERS. But it's the wrong approach for WWW. I think the primary problem is Will Smith. I mean, there is no way in hell that even the most Radical Republican in the 1870s would have allowed a black James West to be a top Government agent, much less actually walk down the street without his ass getting beaten by Jim Crow or the cops. George Clooney was originally set to play West, and WWW's original approach that he signed up for was that of a spy adventure with tongue-in-check humor. Then he saw the approach director Barry Sonnenfeld was gunning for, and Clooney bailed the giant spider. If only he could have warned the rest of us. There are other problems. Smith and Kline have zero chemistry. Hayek isn't convincing enough of a foundation for a love triangle conflict. Too many stupid jokes that are DOA. Then we come to Kenneth Branaugh's Dr. Loveless. In the TV show, he was a midget. The filmmakers changed him to a legless Confederate sympathizer, but you know what? It's a critical mistake. The filmmakers back in 1999 claimed they thought a dwarf baddie was in bad taste, and I think: But jokes about hanicapped people aren't? Besides, as a kid I enjoyed the concept of someone being a midget, but having the brains and wealth to be a worthy villain for the heroes in question. It's like Kingpin for MARVEL comics. He seems beatable, but he throws Spider-Man and Daredevil around like sacks of potatos. But whatever. WILD WILD WEST is a piece of s***. WILD WILD WEST (1999) - *1/2

I have that infamy on my short-list of movies to watch. It'll happen eventually. I've seen all of those movies and..... Yeah..... But anyways, 'nother film. Hmmm, how about The Rage: Carrie 2? I REALLY like this movie. Although it doesn't live up to what a Carrie squeal should be, it was still a good stand alone flick. At least for me.

You see, when I do these reviews, I usually watch the movie again and get my input fresh and nicely squeezed. When I get around to seeing THE RAGE, I'll review it. But my memory back in the day was.......meh. Then again, I saw alot of lame slasher/horror movies in that era.

Ok, fair enough.
What do you think about a Christmas Story?
It's in my top 5.

Ok, fair enough. What do you think about a Christmas Story? It's in my top 5. A really charming good, organic little tale of nostalgia that's been hijacked into insanity by many people. Still, beyond the goofyness of the 24 hour marathon or whatever, its surprising how A CHRISTMAS STORY is really darn good...and to think, its from the same director of PORKY'S.

Not seeking a huge explanation or anything of that ilk, but what's your expert analysis of the mega-hit major motion picture known as, That Thing You Do?
