Pirates 3 was this year yeah? That gets my vote. Same deal as Spiderman 3. Someone wrote down ideas. Someone filmed them. It just went randomly from location to location with sub-stories popping up and disappearing again. I was shocked at how much of a mess that film was.

The Simpsons movie. It wasn't funny at all. I liked it, but it just wasn't funny. I was at least expecting a few laughs here and there, but it didn't deliver at all.

Saw IV, was dissapointing to me, but I loved it. Transformers was a major disappointment to me, I hated the film.

it's a tossup between Lars and the Real Girl, Sicko (while important for people to see, it lost its way partway through by becoming a movie about how good the rest of the world has it instead of exposing HMOs), or Hostel Part 2

POTC 3 was bad, but after the second one, I knew it would be.
I'll go with Spider-Man 3. After the awesome Spider-Man 2, this should have been much, much better.

4: ROTSS
I thought they'd fix the mistakes of the first but just screwed up even more
POTC: AWE
Dead man's chest was a great movie and built norrington into a good character, in AWE he's just wasted and the movie is just overlong and the ending was stupid.
Halloween
One of the worst mainstream horror movies ever, nuff said

Pirates 3: only because I heard people call it 'the greatest movie I have ever seen.' I saw it, I hated it, end of story.
Spiderman 3 was fun, nothing great, but fun. I saw it with lady friends so it made it fun. The next two times I saw it were tough to sit through however.
Finally got around to seeing Shrek 3, and yea.... I consider it worse than the second IMO, so that's nothing too shocking.
1408 just left me wanting more, but maybe too much more.
Need to see Knocked Up.

admittedly i have not seen many movies this year, but heres my take
I dont get why people hate Spiderman 3 so much. I thought it was pretty good. Maybe its because im not into comics, so i dont notice/care if it conflicts. i wish they hadnt made sandman a sympathetic character and i cant stand Mary Jane, but even so i still thought it was good. i think its the 2nd best movie in the spiderman trilogy (2,3,1)
The 2 worst movies i've seen were Shrek 3 and Simpsons I had low expectations going into Shrek 3, and i still felt let down. What can i say about the simpsons? its a movie thats been hyped and its years in the making. It had a few laughs here and there, but i certainly wouldnt go out of my way to see it again. In fairness its almost impossible to live up to the hype this movie had, but still if i was rating it on a scale of 10, it wouldnt be anymore than a 5 at best for me.

The Simpsons. My friends hyped this movie to death. It was an hour long version of a episode from season 17 or something, you know you got a crap movie when your main selling point is "Spider-Pig" and Bart's weiner. Yesh. Transformers had more laughs and it was an action movie. It seems like South Park won the movie war.

Mainstream: Spider-Man 3. Hey Peter, remember when your dead uncle that you got killed told you that with great power comes great responsibility? Remember? Oh no, you don't...otherwise you wouldn't have let the unstoppable bank robber made of sand JUST WALK AWAY!
Non-Mainstream: The Darjeeling Limited. It was good, but...I guess I have to accept that Wes Anderson made two great movies and now makes good ones. Meh.
I really liked Halloween and Grindhouse, by the by.

Transformers. Too long, too unfunny, characters weren't developed well, and the humans are too stupid in it.

It's Spidey 3, just because even though I did like it, with a bit of tweaking here or there it coulda been alot better and had me loving it.

I'm not sure it's possible for a film with Owen Wilson in it to be disappointing, unless you actually get punched in the nuts on your way out.

I wasn't disappointed by the quality, and certainly not by Owen Wilson, who was the best he's been in years in it. I think I was more disappointed by reading reviews that were saying it was up there with "Rushmore" and "The Royal Tenenbaums" and, while good, I didn't feel it really approached the level of those two films.

Spider-man 3, Halloween, and Transformers for me.
I'm the most dissapointed with Halloween because Rob has a love and a grip for the horror genre. House of 1,000 Corpses was a great first effort even though it ripped off of countless other movies. Devil's Rejects was amazing, I honestly thought he coudln't smurf this up, but he did. I still forgive him though.
