I remember this. Seeing this again reminds me how amazing it is that some people will still defend Russo.

Between this and the Nash annihilating a roster match somewhere down the forum...my head hurts.

Ah yes. Part 433 of WCW's "shoots" post mid-99.
What a s***hole that company became.

LOL, great find.
I think the funniest thing about it was how every other wrestler seemed to stay kayfabed the whole time. Like after Bagwell laid down and lost, everyone in the back was all cheering and stuff.... Norman Smiley was like "Yaaaay! La Parka just won!" Even la parka himself was jumping around all happy-like after he won.
Man WCW insulted its viewers intelligence during this time period.

I guess I'm a glutton for bad TV at times, I have just about every Nitro around that time period and yeah it was pretty unbareable at times. Especially with the whole "Powers That Be" angle they were doing. Unless you were a smark, you didn't understand anything, hell that's how I became one myself.

What's Buff Bagwell doin these days?? Sitting huddled in a corner going "American Males" over and over again while sobbing? Panhandling to save up $20 to pay for Virgil's autograph?

Well I mean WCW was so messed up from previous administration that all Russo could do is massive amounts of shoots. I'm not a Russo defender but I mean WCW was a train wresck before he got there from Jim Heard and Eric Bischoff.
I'm sad that the politics of WCW (ie-Hogan and Nash) destroyed WCW. I mean if they pushed younger stars they would be alive today. I mean look at former guys like Benoit, Jericho, guerrero, Mysterio all former world champions in WWE and could have been huge stars in WCW. But no! That didn't happen.

I agree, especially in late 1998-early 1999 it was mostly Hogan/Nash with their political manuevers mucking up everything for the lower card talent.
