When we talk about who should be inducted into the 2008 Hall of Fame, Owen Hart's name gets tossed around alot. Others argue that he should'nt be in the HOF because he was nothing more than a mid-card. Well I don't agree or disagree with that, but moreso the fact that if he didn't die, his name would'nt be tossed around as much. Not to mention he'd still be wrestling, but moreso the former. I feel the Hall of Fame should be used to honor the careers of past stars rather than a memorial. That's why I hated Eddie Guerrero's induction, because his death made it obvious that that was the sole reason for it. Sure, he could've got inducted somewhere down the line, but I felt it was too soon. Now, one can argue that if it wasn't for Andre's death, there would'nt be no Hall of Fame. While not may be true, Andre isn't known for his death as he is for his career. And if they created the Hall of Fame when he was alive, he would definately be inducted and proudly accept that honor. So my question is, should Owen Hart be inducted and WHY?

Yes. I've always been of the opinion that Owen was far and away the better wrestler than his brother, Bret. Therefore, by my admittedly liberal standards on things like this, he should be in if Bret is.

I think he and his brother really did bring in a fresh style into the WWF in their respective times. Owen was a GREAT wrestler. And, a great heel too. He should be, because even now, I hear marks and smarks alike talk about him. They stilll know Owen, years after his death. And, many still love Owen, years after his death. Should he be inducted? Absolutely.

If Bob Orton could be in the Hall of Fame, I don't see why Owen Hart can't be in there.

I think he should, but I can't see the WWE doing it.
I get the impression that the death is still a very touchy subject for the company, and it would be hard to tip-toe around it.

I have always said no. If he were alive today he wouldn't be getting half the HOF buzz that he gets. He may eventually get in in an effort for publicity, but there is a long list of guys who deserve to be inducted before him.

I saw he should get his spot in the HOF. The hall of fame is for the famous (duh), those who contributed to the industry etc. and Owen did both of those. Induct Owen yes, but when? Dunno.

The WWE hall of fame doesn't really mean anything. And there have been people inducted who did even less and don't mean anything to the WWE.
Owen Hart has had a very impressive carreer with some amazing matches. He has been an IC champion, tag team champion and European champion. He has held the titles more then once and together with the British Bulldog their team was one of the best. Owen also played a big part in Austin's succes, it was Owen who jumpstarted the feud between Austin and Bret and when Owen became part of the Hart Foundation, his matches and feuds with Austin were really entertaining.
Owen has done a lot for the WWE and was an important part of the WWE from 1994 to 1998. In that timespace, he pretty much always held a belt and had a feud.
And it's a shame that some pathetic losers pretend that Owen only gets respect because he died too soon. It's extremely disrespectful of everything Owen has achieved.

While I agree the HOF shouldn't be a memorial and a lot of people want certain guys in for the simple fact they died, Owen should get in.
If they wanna skirt around the issue, they could induct the Hart Family as a whole......and I really don't think you can argue the Harts shouldn't be in the HOF.

He is certainly a great wrestler, but is said to be a jerk backstage.

I wasn't really thinking of him.......I was thinking Stu, Helen, Bret, Owen, Bruce, Keith......those guys who were all involved with Stampede Wrestling in the 70s and 80s.
