www.youtube.com/watch?v=opeFpQ89FKQ&NRPart of a "Shoot" interview with Vince Russo. In it, he explains how he doesn't like wrestling as the main part of a wrestling show. After watching this, I understand the last couple weeks in TNA. Also, a couple of bonuses: --The planned ending for the Stacy Pregnancy angle. --Why Oklahoma was a funny character. --How the internet hated the "This is your Life, Rock" segment and should have been kissing Russo's feet. --How internet fans don't really care about wrestling, but only themselves (Nice generalization...) --Goldberg's heel turn.

Very little actual wrestling during a wrestling show, brilliant!
Adding to storylines with non-wrestling is fine, but half the show is too much.

Oklahoma WAS a funny character! I should start an Oklahoma fan club here at the WC board... "What's his name? Juvi? JUVI! JUVI! JUVI!" I loved Oklahoma...until he started wrestling.

Oklahoma was funny. They should bring him back. Picture it JR vs. Oklahoma BBQ Sauce on a Pole Match.
Book It Vince, Book It.

That explaination of that storyline makes my head spin. What the f*** is this shit, wrestling or a soap opera?

His justification for giving the belt to Arquette was even worse (I don't think it's on the link above, but it's definitely from the same shoot interview). Basically, no one expected it to happen, so it was a way to shock the viewers. Samoa Joe coming to the ring in drag and rehearsing scenes from Romeo and Juliet would be something none of us would expect either. Doesn't mean it's going to help.
Russo had some good ideas, but my god, the Attitude Era killed wrestling long-term.

Wow Vince Russo books things on how he wants things, not fans.
"When I watch TV, I am to be enteitrenemnt" well, it´s a Wrestling show.
Seriosly, what do you expect in a wrestling show? Wrestling and angles, not angles and not a main event of 2 mins.

Well, he can keep telling me what I like and don't like. I'll continue not watching TNA. Same here. It's a shame. What gets my goat is this whole attitude that the wrestling isn't entertaining and doesn't matter. Look, all I want is a good, solid match with a reasonable angle that gives me a REASON to watch the match. Am I in the minority? Because I feel like I should be ashamed or something.

Doesn't Vince Russo realize that the reason people watch wrestling is for the WRESTLING!!!!?

Another thing,
Russo is saying that his job was to 'draw eyeballs to the television'.
You can put something outlandish on television and people will watch, yes.
But that doesn't mean they'll STAY to watch the damn thing.
Oh, wait, Russo just said that I only care about myself ... aren't I one of the 'masses', or what? What am I, exactly?

I hate the whole view that wrestling is about making money and getting ratings. I don't give a shit how succesful a company is, all I care about is if they entertain me. Vince Russo's version of 'entertainment' does NOT entertain me.
