This is the first I've seen of Waylon Mercy. Is he like supposed to be Max Cady or something? I like the gimmick, really.

Yeah, something like that. A polite, intelligent psychopath type of character. Because that's my impression, I don't really know. Sophisticated psychos are the best type of bad guy for anything, whether it be in book, TV, film or wrestling. Waylon Mercy shoulda been massive.

The best thing about it was he genuinely looked insane.
But you could see that Spivey couldn't get a round real well, so it was doomed from the start, I suppose.
But why couldn't he be a heel manager?

From Wiki:
Huh? I don't look at Dan Spivey and think 'photogenic'.

Man, Waylon Mercy would've so rocked during the Attitude era. Man, he could've teamed up with Brian Pillman and been one hell of a crazy tag team.
Too bad Spivey was close to retirement when he took on the gimmick.

Waylon Mercy rocks, i would love to see that gimmick return, but who could pull it off? Suposively Bull Buchanan was going to come back with the Waylon mercy gimmick but came back as B-2 instead.
