He can put on good matches, and when he has a backstage interview like he did tonight he can be damned entertaining. You can do a lot worse than John Cena.

Cool if you feel that way. I love his serious promos, but his supposedly "funny and entertaining" ones make me want to bash my head on my desk.
And his matches .... 3-4 good ones a year isn't peaking my interest.

Don't worry about that, most of the John Cena hate has drifted to Batista and Lashley anyway.

Yeah, I like John Cena a little bit. He can put on a decent match and is a great company guy. Hell, I really don't mind Batista. But no matter how I feel about those 2, I absolutely HATE Bobby Lashley. There is not 1 redeeming quality of that "Talent". No Charisma. No Wrestling Ability. No Original Finisher. Nothing.

I think Cena has had a wonderful year, I think the only reason people bash on him as of late is simply because it's the trendy thing to do.
Tonight's promo was great, and he has had some excellent matches, and I don't see a damn thing wrong with Cena's submission holds, it works just as well as most of the moves out there, no he's not Chris Benoit (as he has personality) and he's not Chris Jerich(because honestly who else is) but he is carrying the flag better than anyone else would right now, and one of the few newer guys on the roster than even comes close to that Superstar Stature a Champion needs.

I think Cena's best quality is that the H stands for huggable.

Well when he is head and shoulders above the rest and I still haven't really heard anything really bad about his backstage manner, he's fine in my book. At least he seems to bust his ass. If only he stopped using submissions and maybe not have such lopsided matches all the time. I agree about the lopsided matches, and to an extent, the submission (It isnt such a bad idea for him to have a submission move to throw in) The thing you mentioned that sometimes gets overlooked is that he **does** bust his ass. With the mega push he's gotten, it would be really easy for him to phone it in, and he could easily have a big head from all the attention he's gotten but he hasnt done either. He is basically the anti-Hogan.

You know what's funny? Cena goes out there and does exactly what he's told to do. He gets sympathy, he sells merch, and he loves the sport. He's one of the best workers in the WWE.

At least people have some sort of a feeling towards him, good or bad. Really, what more do you want?

It actually kind of pissed me off that the crowd would boo Cena out of the arena, but Batista got pops and no negative reaction for anything.
Anyone that give Batista a positive anything shouldn't ever be allowed to watch wrestling ever again.

Cena's "Rock-lite" promos do nothing for me. Cena is not the Rock, no matter how much WWE wishes it so.

No, but I'd much rather him get Promo time than most of the guys back there, psuedo Rock tonight or not, tonight his promo worked wonderfully.

Oh and I like Batista, looks like I can't watch wrestling anymore huh.

My 6-year-old brother in law is just about the biggest Batista mark there is. In fact, my wife and I got him the Smackdown WHC belt for his birthday next week just so he can be like Batista. He just doesn't know any better yet. He'll learn. He's a smart kid.

okay, sorry.
Kids excluded.
But explain to me, what there is to like about a slow, prodding along big man, who hits like Lashley talks, is injury prone and has never had a good match ever?
I can think of plenty of good matches Cena has put on, but Batista? Batista is just balls.
The man has no character whatsoever.
