I know, I know, this isn't going to be a popular opinion in the WC community, but WWE did this to themselves.
They've built Umaga up as the "unstoppable monster," a gimmick which has worked so well in the past, and IMO it's worked here. When Umaga shows up, you know someone is getting their ass kicked.
Umaga has that undefeated streak right now (not counting DQ's) and it's long enough and built up enough to where it really, truly means something. His first loss should be significant and meaningful. If he jobs clean to Cena tonight it's all for naught. It means nothing, and almost a year of buildup is flushed down the toilet.
However, if he wins the belt tonight, it elevates him into that upper echelon status. That "who's gonna stop this monster?" status. When he does lose (probably at WM) it will be significant.
He doesn't have to "carry the company" as a champion. Right now DX is the biggest draw, so the company will be just fine with them at the forefront. Umaga probably won't equal ratings, but it will elevate his character and give them probably the first dominant heel champion not named HHH in quite a long time.

I don't like him in the World Title hunt. He seems like a cartoon character.

I don't like him in the World Title hunt. He seems like a cartoon character. Maybe, but with AAE by his side, he's light years better than SuperCena.

I don't like him in the World Title hunt. He seems like a cartoon character. You may not like him, but if he loses tonight and lays down clean after an FU, his character is shot to hell.

Who fights off 4 men, two of them actual wrestlers, where one of them is the "Unstoppable Monster" character? Who wins with a fireman's carry slam done in slo-mo, or s botched STS that isn't even locked in? Yeah, that's realistic, alright.

I dont think he should win the title. Those I always dont think he should lose tonight. I say they have him win by DQ or Count out tonight. Then at Royal Rumble a bigger pay off PPV. Then have Cena finally stop Umaga.

Then have Cena finally stop Umaga. That's what I'm thinking too, something along the lines of him being such a savage that he can't follow the rules and gets DQed, leading to a no-DQ match at the Rumble where maybe Cena defeats Umaga (cause I don't see them putting the belt on him).

I would bet the title to my car that tonight's match ends in DQ. It's the only way for Cena to keep the title while making Umaga still look like a threat. Umaga doesn't impress me.......everytime I see him I think Jamal from 3 Minute Warning.

Hes gotta lose sometime. Have Cena have to do like 3 F-Us or something to beat him. For some reason people seem to think hes Umagas over too. Hes not, at all. Edge is over, Edge gets boos. You dont hear ANY boos when Umaga comes out. And hes a real cartoon character too...

Cena seems more like a real guy than Umaga. You wouldn't see a samoan with tatoos on his face and a handler running around the streets, but you'd see a square-headed dude and wouldn't think twice about it.

I would really like Umaga to defeat Cena for the title but it's bound to be a typical "heel" victory due to interference or something along those lines.

I agree. If he doesn't beat Cena tonight...then pretty much everything they've done with Umaga over the past several months is down the crapper. Umaga might not be the most interesting character or even that good, but he beats the hell out of this same old Cena bulls*** we've had for decades now it seems like. The only sad thing with Umaga winning is that Cena will win it back and be a 4 time champion

Since when does wrestling have to be super serious? By this logic then there shouldn't have been the Undertaker, Mankind, Golddust, or Kane characters, just to name a few. If I can see a square-headed dude running around the streets everyday, why do I want to see another one on my TV, in a medium where the emphasis is on characters? To each their own I guess. As for tonights match, I think that Umaga wins with much interference and Cena goes onto eliminate everyone in the Rumble to get his shot again, or vice versa, whoever loses tonight is winning the Rumble.
