Goldberg's spear practically lifted the opponent up and drove him straight into the mat. I remember one that he hit in 2003 on Stevie Richards that was particularly nasty.
Rhino's Gore works for him since he's fairly short and stocky, and when he hits the move he plows straight through the opponent, sometimes flipping them completely over.
Edge's spear, on the other hand, looks like a simple assisted back bump.
And the Pounce is certainly effective when sold properly (see Chris Sabin, Cassidy Riley, Sabu, etc.). A large football player plowing into you with a shoulder tackle is pretty convincing.

I think Shuji Kondo does a pretty sweet spear and for a little guy I think Jimmy Jacobs does a good one too. Goldbergs is still the best but I think Edge really needs to switch it up, because it doesn't really match his character. The Spear is more of a power move, Edge should go back to using his submission or maybe another new submission.
