agreed 100% even with what happened Wrestlemania XX will ALWAYS be a fond moment. THAT is the Benoit I want to remember Damn straight. I WANT to remember Benoit triumphantly holding up the belt in the shower of confetti. That's how I hope I remember Benoit, not for these circumstances. I also want to remember Benoit that way. I dont want to be one who will spit on his legacy and what he did was unforgivable. I dont have the right words to say how Im feeling over all this after following it during the last 24 hours and I just hope Nancy and Daniel are at peace. The show must go on....

Anyone else wanna just forget Chris Benoit ever existed? DONE! Evidently not because you're in the Benoit thread and not over in the Wrestlecrap forum talking about how funny it was when Fred Ottman wore a stormtrooper hat....

I don't think that there is a worst crime then killing a child.
Benoit should simply be forgotten

This will be my first and last post on Benoit and my last post for a very long time. I've read a lot of sickening things on the internet. "Benoit should burn in hell" , "I hope he rots" things like that. Sure Benoit committed a heinous act. I'm not denying that nor am I defending it. But there was obviously something going on in his head that could cause him to do such a thing. Who are we to pass judgment on someone we didn't know. We weren't there, we weren't inside his head at the time. People do snap and unfortunately some people can't control their actions. We should remember Chris for his legacy in the ring and not for what happened over one weekend. I agree. There's so much that's going on here, it is really mind boggling, I don't hate Chris, I don't like what went down either, but I really can't say I honestly understand what goes through the mind of a person who does this, and therefore I'm not coming down on him like that, I understand everyone's feelings on both sides of the fence, that's just part of what I feel

I just feel pissed off, I met this guy in '96 shook his hand, ect. And beleived him to be a great guy, buying his dvd, watching his matches from any promotion he was in. But to harm a child, and someone else that I loved in wrestling just makes me sick on my stomach, my hero no more.

I have the HARD KNOCKS DVD in my DVD binder, and also the ROYAL RUMBLE, WM XX and VENGEANCE PPV DVDs where Benoit first got the title shot, won the World Title, and then succesfully defended it respectively, and I sit here and look at them, and I know that I'll just never be able to watch them the same way ever again. Not knowing what I know.....now, every time I see the Crippler Crossface locked in on someone, I'll be thinking of Chris' hands around Nancy's throat......of Chris' hands holding a pillow over Daniel's face.
I'll never be able to ENJOY watching Chris Benoit wrestle ever again. I know the credo is "innocent until proven guilty" in this country, and I would love nothing more than for it to be discovered to be a bizzarre mafia style hit or something.....anything that would clear Chris' name. Hell, more than THAT, I'd just love to be sitting here talking about the five star classic match that Benoit and Punk had at Vengeance.....instead of talking about Benoit and his entire family being dead.
Christ almighty.....and I really truly do feel for the WWE Superstars that laid their souls bare last night in praise of Benoit. Especially Chavo Guerrero......good Lord, poor Chavo.
But really, all those who paid thier respects, and shed tears last night have to feel pretty duped/betrayed right now.
And on a side point, everyone said that Ed Gein was "the nicest young man you could ever meet"......until the day that cops found a house of horrors on the farm Gein called home. THAT alone should be proof enough that someone can display one face to the entire world, and have a much, much more sinister one lurking beneath the surface. I wonder if such really was the case with Chris Benoit. Not to compare his crimes to Gein's......but if all this horror turns out to be truly Benoit's premeditated handiwork, then there ARE some parallels to the two stories.

This is my two cents, I haven't read this whole thread and don't plan to.
Only a very sick man could do something like this. I'm not sure if it even makes sense to cast moral condemnation on crazy people. I don't think it does. The real Chris Benoit, the healthy Chris Benoit, died before this event. We just didn't know it. But we can still mourn that Chris Benoit and appreciate him for what he gave us.
RIP Chris and family

Anyone else wanna just forget Chris Benoit ever existed? I Wouldn't go that far. The only reason we should remember is so that we can try to learn from whatever caused him to do this and try to prevent it.

I still feel there were certain things in his life that made him like this, something affected his personality gravely

The only reason we should remember is so that we can try to learn from whatever caused him to do this and try to prevent it. But will many current and future wrestlers heed it? Will WWE? I used to hate how Chris Jericho and Lance Storm and others retired, how it would be great, limited even, if they would just go back to work. Maybe they got out before it was too late. Now I'm seriously thinking that Chris returning at all to the WWE is a no-no.

I am so confused! They say he killed both his wife and son, that it was thought out. Why would Chris have done this. What was so bad that he went to these actions?

Thats what I think, anyone who snapped would have just rushed her like a bear. Not waste time tying her up, towel on her, finding a cord, ect. This was planned out for a while.

I saw a report that Chris had been showing signs of not being right for about a year now. If there is even a grain of truth to it, then I really feel bad for Nancy's family for the fact that she did not leave him. Her last year was probably a miserable one, and the same report stated that Nancy had a safety deposit box that contained a log of bad events between her and Chris "just in case". If true, she probably saw something coming and just could not force herself to leave him. Truly sad.

Like I said in the last thread, Benoit took too many cracks to the skull and it knocked some screws loose. And I hate to say this, but he's probably not going to be the last one it happens to. Lets just hope he's the last one who decides to do harm to his family.

I know his actions were very bad, but I feel sorry for him. What he did is horrible but something wasn't right to cause him to take these actions. On a side note, Who else thought Edge was the most emotional speaker of the tribute?
