Did you get the PM from that mod? Don't start another argument over this crap. If people want to put R.I.P. in their sig, then leave them alone. Leave who alone? I said I find it insulting (and it is). I never said they should take it down or anything.

Just read the newsletter at F4W. And it's of course mostly about the Benoit thing.
Must of been really hard for Bryan to write.
I was a big fan of Benoit. I loved his style. I loved his matches. He was the reason I kept watching WCW in 98 to 99. He was the reason I kept watching WWE threw all the bullcrap over the last 6 or so years.
But now. I can never ever watch a Benoit match again. He has smurfed it all up by becoming a monster in the last thew days of his life. I can not view this guy with admiration and respect ever again.
Those last things he did cancels out every good thing he has ever done. Sorry its the way it is.

I know people who spent so much of their emotions and money on Benoit over the years might try to spin this a bit, but there's really no defending it. Some are saying that he was a great man for 40 years and just had a bad weekend, but how the heck do we know what kind of man he was? Broke up a marriage and left his own wife in '97. Drunk driving arrest in '98. Restraining order in 2003. Best friends with multiple substance abuser Eddie Guerrero. Admitted to abusing steroids and pain pills in Japan. Made a young worker do squats til his legs couldn't move. I'm just sticking to the attested facts, here, mods. That starts to fill some things in.

I don't have a source confirming this, but they were talking about it on my local sports radio. Apparently Chris Nowinski has given his thoughts, and brought up the fact that Benoit was one of few wrestlers who was willing to take stiff chair shots to the back of the head, and he believes that brain damage may have played a role in this weekends incidents. Apparently Nowinski contacted the coroner for Benoit and asked him to do a test for brain damage, but so far the coroner has not done one (not sure who not) I think the repeated head trauma has more to do with this than steroids. Nowinski has done some good research, and his autopsy of the football player who (I believed) killed himself showed the results of repeat concussions. I believe that Vince needs to rethink his policy on head shots from chairs.

I really think he put so much pressure on himself in his life, he really felt he was the best, and he probably was skill-wise, he seemed to take a strict stance on things, whether it be his career or showing respect. I just wonder now about those comments abou his son always being in a suit and showing the proper respect, yes that's very important, but after the Daivari story about respect, I just wonder what might have happened if Daniel ever got out of hand, he was a 7 year old of course. I know my dad wasn't too wild about me acting like a child when I was one and it still affects me now. I think Chris was an extreme person(no pun intended) and it had a huge affect on his life and certainly his last days

Call me old fashioned, but a guy who kills his wife and child, then hangs himself to avoid the consequences isn't someone I'm going to be putting up a tribute for any time soon. If you want to feel sympathy for him, be my guest. We obviously differ in opinion. Most people would disagree with you. Murder tends to have that effect.

Is there any dvd's with benoit featured on the cover? I was just wondrering if WWE wil remove his image and his match?
Understandably they have removed all merchandise from the wweshop.com and no mention of his matches on the dvd reviews but despite the circumstances they can't just pretend he's not there...he's played a key role in PPV's for the past 8 years

More fame whores, like Debra Marshall, putting in their two cents where it doesn't belong, so they can get some spotlight. Nowsinski ... SHUT UP! This isn't your concern! Debra ... SHUT UP! This isn't about you and Austin. Jed Shaffer ~Stop pouring salt in the wounds from shakers that aren't even in the same spice rack.

There is something i want to add, i agree that Nancy and Daniel should Rest in Peace as well as Chris. It is not our position to judge him by what or what may not have happened, we are not in that position legally or spiritualy. Everyone has that point where they kinda lose it, i have come to that point as well, i didnt kill anyone but i probably could've been capable of it without even knowing. I'm not maiking excuses, just pointing out that no one on here or anywhere else has the right to judge Benoit one way or another, most of all because none of us have been in his shoes, even though it is possible that anyone of us could do the same thing.

I always believed that suicide does NOT warrant sympathy. No matter the reason simply because it is f***ing selfish. Nothing is worth it, it's the cowards way out, it hurts ALOT more people other than the person killing themselves and finally they put it among themselves and had full control over it. So imagine how I picture Benoit now after not only killing himself, but also taking 2 innocent souls with him (one being his 7 year old son)

I dont think its anything to seek help about as i said everyone has had that point where they get so stressed that they kinda lose it beit for a few seconds or in Benoits case a few days. Not saying what he is accused of doing is right, but it can happen to anyone.

From PWTorch, some commentary by Wife Beater Steve Austin's ex:
Steve Austin's ex-wife, Debra Marhsall, commented on the Benoit Family Tragedy in a story published by My Fox TV in Colorado:
Regarding domestic abuse and drugs in pro wrestling, she said: "The domestic and drug abuse is out of hand in the WWE and something needs to be done about it."
Regarding the pattern of deaths in pro wrestling, she said: "In the last ten years, 60 wrestlers under age 45 have died... all in the prime of their lives. Big strong men, who somehow die with little or no investigation of the organization that encourages performers to use muscle-enhancing drugs."
The article concludes:
Ms. Williams claims she and Nancy Benoit's stories are very similar. Both sought help from law enforcement because of domestic abuse. In 2003, Benoit sought a divorce from Chris Benoit saying he physically abused her, she also asked the courts for a restraining order. Williams did the same thing on the third occasion when she says she was attacked by "Stone Cold."
Williams says, like Benoit, Austin all but forced her to write a letter to authorities saying her complaint was a mistake. But in Williams's case, the courts put Austin on probation for a year. In return, Ms. Williams was placed under a gag order, forcing her to remain silent about the "dark side" of professional wrestling, filled with drugs, booze, and domestic abuse.
"If only I had spoken up sooner, maybe Nancy and her little boy would be alive today... that's why I'm going public now, something has to change!"
In the TV report, she said:
-"Everyone thought we had this wonderful life, had this big house, worked together."
-"Steroids! He (Steve Austin) was doing steroids. I saw him do it, so I know he did it."
-"I have lived it. I have lived domestic abuse. I don't even want to think about what Nancy went through."
-"Why kill your wife, who's innocent, and why kill your seven year old, a little child. That's why I have to speak up. I've been silent for too many years." She said a gag order prevented her from talking about it her case with Austiin for a year.
-"I know what it feels like to have someone really, really big on top of you hitting you."
-"I had him arrested for hitting me."
-"I have a huge voice being that I was a wrestler, in it, abused, and married to the top guy. I'm glad I'm alive."

I've been waiting for the "it's not his fault because" posts and apparently they are filing in. While this technically isn't one of them, my point remains. If that's your opinion that's OK and I respect that. What I don't respect anymore is Chris Benoit. The wrestler and certainly not the person. He lost all that when he decided to take two innocent lives. I don't hate Chris because I don't know him. But the word "respect" will NEVER be used by me to describe him again, whether it's in the ring or out. Just like (as I beileve he's guilty as sin) any respect I had for OJ Simpson the football player went out the window when OJ Simpson the person brutally murdered two innocent people in his wife and Ron Goldman. Just like if it's proven Phil Spector shot and killed Lana Clarkson, any respect I had for him for creating the "Wall of Sound" will be gone. Forever. Some people are having a really tough time seperating the fact that wresting is worked when a real hero they had commits these atrocious acts. I simply cannot buy the "well he had a mean German Suplex so I can still like the character". No, the character was made up, played by a real person who is guilty of murder. To me, the two go hand in hand. Any respect I ever had for Chris Benoit the performer went by the wayside when Chris Benoit the real person who played the character killed his wife and child. Rest in peace Nancy and Daniel Benoit.

People's opinions are going to be different, and when you have a large group of them, the range as to which they differ will be much larger...We're all human, which means we are all different...And think differently based off a lot of different circumstances, life experiences, how we were raised...
Why must people always try and justify there way of thinking over someone elses? We don't live in Wrestlecrap land, we don't all work as posters for Wrestlecrap...we are all individuals, and fighting or arguing over who should do what, and how...is just meaningless....
I'm not trying to burn anyone, I'm like everyone else, full of a lot of different emotions about everything...Benoit was my childhood hero, and now...well it'd be like being a fan of Hitler's paintings...but that's just my own personal thoughts and I won't try to condemn anyone else because they want to praise the man...I'll miss a lot of things about him, but I won't miss the man I didn't actually know...the one who killed Nancy and there son...
