His character is a heel, supposedly, so naturally they have to make him sound evil.

"and still refuse to acknowledge any difference between kayfabe and reality unless they're absolutely forced to...they dump all over it like this."
Remember back in 80s and early 90s how much they really layed on the kayfabe? I feel like they didn't have a choice because kayfabe got alot of those famous gimmicks over. Lets take the obvious Million Dollar Man gimmick. If they showed him a simple common man and not a millionaire that gimmick would have been ruined.
I also will use that one WWF music album mentioned in Wrestlecrap. I believe the induction said the heels sang apart from the faces.

The reason they shove this down our throats: they want us to love Batista, no matter how much we hate him.
This is not doing favors for anyone.

It is screwed up that they would do that since Khali seems like a generally nice guy. But I really don't see it as something terrible. I'm assuming the majority of fans just think of it as part of an angle.

That....was not amusing. No where near funny. I can't believe they would do that. Also, the freaking "Batista destroyed the myth" bullcrap was just...what the frick? Daggone it! I'm glad they weren't watching SD a year ago when Undertaker won the Last Man Standing match.

Good lord! That article was horrible. First off, they made Khali look like he was some mythical man. And, yes, he is very big, and I would be probably be awestrucked if I ever met him in person. But, they've had big guy work for the company for years. Hell, two of them were 7 feet tall, like Khali. So, why should Khali some sort of mythical man? Also, they basically gave Batista a blowjob in that article. I mean, all he did was spear Khali. And, they made it sound like Batista was the first guy to take Khali off his feet. I remember the Undertaker beating him in a Last Man Standing Match last year and John Cena F-Uing him at One Night Stand THIS YEAR!!!! I can't believe WWE would forget that, especially since one of those examples happened about TWO MONTHS AGO!!!!

Why do they have to trash Khali and his charity? I don't remember Vince, as evil Mr. McMahon get his charities and work insulted just cause he was a heel. This is kinda low.

WWE.com= a bunch of jealous mudslingers. If there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's that tyrants can't dance. And, as we all know, if there's one thing Khali does and does well...it's dancing.
My theory? Vince saw that Khali's dancing was better than his in the "Stand Back" video and set this conspiracy in motion.

I don't know what's more shocking: That the WWE would post something like that or people actually read wwe.com for news

Why would they bring attention to it in regards to his character? What he does in his personal life with his money doesn't have anything to do with the heel character he portrays. They shouldn't do it in regards to his character, but they should bring it up in a non-kayfabe way because WWE really needs some image rehab right now. They should drop the all-kayfabe, all the time mindset and starting running spots like the "NBA Cares" ones that they show during basketball games highlighting stuff like Khali sending his money home and whatever other feel-good stories they can.

You guys are gonna hate the "Batista serves off time as a wet nurse to abandoned orphan babies." They should bring back Nathan Jones and use this to push him as a face. If they want people to boo Khali, they can say he's an illegal immigrant sending all of his money out of the US.

I never realized that Khali was such a genuinely good person. I mean, I figured he wasn't as evil as they show him on TV, but I didn't know he was sending money back home to help open schools.
I guess you really can't judge a book by its cover.

Well, I should qualify that I don't know precisely what the money is used for, all I've heard is that it goes to the development and improvement of his home village.

Don't you all think you are taking a kayfabe article on wwe.com a little too seriously. Sure it's great that Khali is such an unselfish person that does so much for his village, but I have much more fun imagining him as a man-beast from the Punjabi jungles, feared by those who know of him. That's just me though.

Why would they bring attention to it in regards to his character? What he does in his personal life with his money doesn't have anything to do with the heel character he portrays. In a way at least on here I kinda of wish none of us knew about his charity deal. Not that it isn't a great thing for him to do, but good grief it gets brought up ad nauseam. Heck, some justify ( or at least seem to) liking his character solely on that. " Wow, he's terrible both in the ring and on the mic." "Yes, but he sends money to his village!" And as a preemptive caveat to hopefully defuse some of the ' Nuh uh, I like Khali for other reasons' posts that are sure to follow- 1) yup it's a broad generalization, and some people derive some genuine entertainment from the big charitable lug apparently. 2) just my opinion why the hell shouldn't we like him for what he does in real life? Kayfabe is dead. DEAD! What I hate about WWE so much is that they're storylines are no longer something that's "put over" on the fans so that fans can see some conflict and then sleep well at night when the good guy beats the bad guy. Why? Kayfabe is dead. The storylines are now more like watching the creative team's fantasy world made into flesh. A world where foreigners (especially middle eastern ones) are big, evil monsters, filled with hate that seem scary but all is well because our strong American Cena marines can beat them up like it was nothing. A world where women without six-pack simply don't exist. However, if you're a woman with six-pack abs and dark hair, you're an evil bitch who's jealous of the blonde good girl. Anyways, the article is unnecessary and uncalled for. To a young WWE mark, this may be the only information he ever sees about Khali online. Kayfabe is dead and there is no reason to mix reality with fantasy and spin into some bullshit that helps nobody.
