What did Hogan have to gain by winning that match? It's not like his legacy isn't secure. It's not like millions of little Hulkamaniacs are going to forget how much they loved him 20 years ago. It's not like anyone would even remember it when he came around in a year or two for his next big payday. It was nothing but an inflation of his own ego, to beat a man that he never should have beaten when it comes to in-ring skill.
What did Michaels have to gain by winning the match? He could use the momentum to further himself into whatever new storyline he moved into. When you double-cross somebody, and then cut some promos to show just how horribly mis-matched the feud is, and then go out there and lose anyway.... THAT'S burial. He's HBK, he recovered, but it still never should have happened.

HBK is a bitch - always has been - always will be. Cena beating him was probably the best thing I ever saw - plus I was there, but still. Did you hear? Kevin Thorne likes to visit Bite Clubs? and Matt Striker is a disgraced former NYC school teacher?

Isn't this the same guy who comically over sold a big boot during said match? Yeah, Shawn. You're the very picture of credibility.

It's like how people said HBK was "in the right" for legit blowing off Cena after their Wrestlemania match because Cena "deserved it." That was legit? I always assumed that was just to indicate that their feud wasn't over, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was legit. I'll say that it was reported as legit by a few newz sites. They said Shawn was pissed at Cena for not "properly selling the leg that he had been working on all match." So when it came time for the handshake at the end, HBK blew him off. You can notice a look of shock on Cena's face when it happened.

The bottom line here is that Hogan was back for another of his one paycheck deals and he wanted to go over.....why? What is gained from going over when you're only making ONE appearance? Shawn has every right to be bitter about it. He's there week after week while Hogan's off making reality shows. He may be a dick but he's a dick with a point.

I'm more of an HBK fan than a Hogan fan, but I agree with those who think that was a dickish thing of him to do. I was hoping he would've been above that by that point.
And as far as who should've won, with the way the storyline was going Hogan had to win, as HBK was punking him out at every possible moment.

You make it sound like Hogan should be on the roster full-time, and at the end of the day the paycheck is probably the thing the wrestlers want the most, workrate or not. It was a dream match, not something that should go on Raw each week or something, Hogan's the bigger name and again by the context of the storyline it made sense that he had to go over. I know it's sacriliege to HBK fans/smarks, but that's the way it was. HBK doesn't have a point at all, he tells Bret to "get over it" when Bret was screwed, but it's perfectly fine for him to whine and moan on TV, give me a break.

Michaels absolutely owned Hogan in every single aspect of that feud. On the mic, in the ring, and all things credibility. Not to mention that Shawn was going to have to be around to face the backlash of the match while Hogan skipped along his merry way with his paycheck. So for Shawn to have to go in there and do the job to Hogan was an abomination. He deserved to say and do whatever he wanted that next night. There is no reason in hell Hogan should have won that match. QFT

Honestly does it really matter who won in a match like that? They are both legends that are or were at the top of the game. Its not like it was for a title or a title shot or anything other than a "dream match" Just like Rock vs. Hogan something for the fans but not really intregal for any other story or future story. Win/Lose records dont really matter a lot it seems. Hell I believe it was Jerry Lynn that said he lost more matches than he ever won and he is still around.

Shawn, Triple H, and Hogan are all equally dickish. The difference is that Hogan is smarter than both of them.

Oh and whoever posted that video I blame you for the fact I just sat and watched Chris Master's debut because it was linked on the side, ugh.

Last time that I saw Shawn Michaels, he was getting the crap beat out of him by his former tag team partner. Literally.
Michaels had superkicked him back just before the Wrestlemania event in March. He said to him; "You'll never see it coming."
