Wonder if the belt's design will change. At least Cena was a prominent focus of Raw when Edge won it from him in the middle of last year, so I get why they kept the spinner then.

If WWE did sign Jericho and he's the whole thing behind the save_us.222 and soforth, having him come back at NM wouldn't be a bad thing at all, what with all the references of October 7 in the video. Picture if you will, Vince standing mid-ring holding the title. He announces a gauntlet match for the vacant title. HHH starts(because of the feud) against Umaga. They are so heated from the earlier match and their fighting that they get counted out. From there..oh, let's say Vince introduces Kennedy and Jeff Hardy. Jeff gets the nod. Finally Orton comes out and wins what he thinks is the final part. Lights go out. The save_us video plays..out walks Jericho. Walls. Tap. New Champ. 1: It'd give serious credibility to the videos. 2: It'd give CJ a main event program from the rip. 3: And if Jericho(Read: creative) can keep the title around his waist for 8 months, CJ can do a heel turn heading into WM to fight the man who took him out of WWE 2 years ago AND Cena can try to reclaim the title that he never truly lost. This is brilliant. I love it.

This really sucks actually. WWE just lost their push. I'm not that much of a Cena fan, but god be willing if he isn't one of the hardest workers around, gets reactions wherever he goes, gives attendance and merchandise, and all around by the way I look at him, probably a down-to-earth man outside of the ring.
Here's hoping for a full recovery...and here's hoping that HHH doesn't get the belt at No Mercy. Hell, i'll take Orton over him.

Honestly, I was really sick of Cena as champion, but its a DAMN shame that it had to end like this. Someone could have gotten over huge by being the one to dethrone Cena. Sucks that it went this way.
Besides, we all knew it. "What happens if Cena gets injured?"
Thanks for one hell of a title reign, John.

This is bad news for Cena and all of us fans. Cena always worked hard and did his best to carry the company during a very difficult stretch of time. He always got insulted by fans despite it being the fault of creative for not letting Cena be himself instead of a Hogan/Austin/Rock derivative. He did need to drop the belt for fans to accept him again and for him to rebuild his connection with fans. But, this isn't the way that I wanted it to happen at all. I hope for his complete recovery and I am looking forward to the day that we hear his opening theme on RAW again. But, now this means that the show will be dominated by Triple H, Orton and Vince all the more. Who knows who will be the champ come Sunday? Even if Jericho comes back at the ppv, he alone can't carry the company and RAW will suffer the same problems that were prevelent back in 2002-2004 with Triple H dominating the show and the title picture and nothing new happening. All of those fans who complained about Cena will be begging for him to come back after a few months of Triple H and Vince centered shows.

damn 4 pages and nobody has started to scream CM Punks name. I'm a little shocked. Only because Punk has a belt already. But the question is...who is face and can feud for the title? Lashley is still injured and personally I don't want to see Triple H feuding for the title for the next 6-8 months. Uggh Triple H is really the only option. There is no top faces whatsoever. You could have Kennedy/Orton but the crowd would be dead. You'd have internet fans cheering Kennedy and teenage girls cheering Orton. This leave out the non-internet male demographic. Which is WWE's target audience. I say give the belt to Morrison and have Punk just feud with Burke for the time being.

I'm not the biggest Cena fan in the world, but this is an absolutely devastating injury for the WWE. No one can fill in for Cena right now on Raw.

HHH v Umaga v Orton for the title could be one solution. I don't like it but it wouldn't be shocking if they went this route.
Hardy v Orton is another...sure everyone knows Hardy isn't winning but at least the two would give the fans a match worth their money.
Mr. Kennedy v Orton makes sense to a point but they're both heels and replacing a Cena match with a match where the fans don't have a clear good guy to cheer for is risky. Unless one turns face suddenly that night.
Jericho v Orton would rule...but would also be a panic move as they could milk Jericho's return and this match for so much more.

Although I'm not a Cena fan it is unfortunate that he was injured, but it's also a relief. The guy has been going non-stop for three years and deserves a break, and we all know that he wasn't going to drop the belt this Sunday, and this year long run has been rather stale for some time, so all this gives someone else a chance to be "top dog" for awhile.
I think the belt will go back to the "Undisputed" design, but I'd much prefer the "Attitude" era design.

The weirdest part about this thing for me is that I was wondering if this was going to happen before the match started.
I'm not that big of a Cena fan, but this does suck.
Although, new champ!

Don't know if it was mentioned, but it looks like it happened on the bulldog to Kennedy, that's what Cena gets for trying to make it look like it actually was a bulldog for once.

Ugh. Although, It would be the easiest solution. The new main event may or may not be Randy Orton vs. HHH vs. Umaga. Credit: Rajah.com

This is the WORST thing that could happen - love him or hate him, he was the only thing standing between us and another 24-month title reign of doom for Trippy.

I never like seeing anyone hurt like this and have to go through a serious surgery.
BUT, 6-8 months of CENA FREE TV sounds like fun to me. Its a breath of fresh air.
Hopefully when hes ready to return, he will seem not as stale anymore.
I hope they dont just throw HHH in the Cena role and have him roll over everybody. I hope this leads to some good feuds and competition instead.
Edit: Grief counselors will be dispatched to elementary schools nation wide tommarow ;D
