From WWE Mobile:
John Cena suffered a complete right pectoral tendon tear. Surgery is required. He'll be out 6-8 months. Officials vow there'll be a title match at No Mercy.
From Psy: Sorry about the lock, meant to just sticky it.

I just posted this in the "Cena Injured" thread. Suck for him and WWE. Hope he gets the rest he needs though.

Wow. Sucks for him.
Although I don't like his title reign, I've heard John Cena is an upstanding man with many good qualities. I wish him the best of luck and a speedy recovery.

You had to know something was wrong, the STFU was even weaker than usual.
The guy has been remarkably durable, but I guess everyone gets hurt sooner or later.

First, hopefully his injury will heal quickly and fully with no long term damage to his career. That said, being off the road for 6 months could be good for him as he's been going non-stop for a long while now and the time off could freshen up his character and lead to a HUGE return.

I wish him all the best and I hope he has a speedy recovery.
But things just got a whole lot more interesting for WWE.

As bad as I feel for the guy, that gives another person a chance to become top face on RAW.
Which can only be a good thing.
As long as it isn't Lashley.

As weird as this may sound this Injury might do him a world of good.
it gives people a break from him and might garner more support for his return.
I just they don't make Lashley the Fall back guy

I loathe his (non-)character and I'm beyond sick of him as champion, but I'm sorry to see this happen nonetheless. Nobody can deny he's worked very hard.
But a lot of good can come of this. WWE might be forced to get creative with their booking and get serious about elevating new guys (though I'm not any more optimistic than anybody else), and as others have said, the break could really be a blessing for Cena from a popularity/character standpoint.

I wish Cena the very best. It's a blow for WWE. Trying to think positively, maybe this will allow some fresh possibilities for the WWE title; then again it may mean Triple H's reign of terror continues.

I wish him the best. I, too, have started to like his improvements in the past year. But as everyone said, he has gone down just in time for Lashley Version .222 (only speculation) to come in.

Very, very unfortunate for WWE. Unfortunate for Cena obviously too, but I don't think he'll lose any momentum and will regain his spot at the top of the card once he returns. But this is a major, major blow for WWE and hopefully they will deliver on this .222 thing because they need to now more than ever.
Oh and btw, HHH meet title belt, title belt meet HHH. There ya go for next top babyface.

I know I have bitched and moaned about Cena in the past but I never ever wished he would get hurt looking forward to seeing Cena again hell at least he has more moves than Hogan did back then and his promos actually does make more sense than Hogan's did anyhow Get Well Cena and come back stronger than ever bro he has earned my Respect more after taking that beating from Randy Orton after the match so take care Cena and God Bless bro another thing I want to say when Cena did had a Myspace he did took time from his busy and hectic schedule to send me a comment and that speaks volumes about John Cena the Man so comeback so we can say The Champ Is Finally Back

Cena returns at Mania 24 and the pop will be heard around the world. Sucks that he got hurt and he'll be fine. Like everyone else said. Let him get a rest and come back fresh. He'll still have his fan base. He was getting very stale so this will be good for everyone.
Now we all know who will win that belt...................... KAMALA!!!!! Come on, can't a guy dream?!?!?!

I hate to hear this. i'll hate it even more if orton puts him out(kayfabe) He's being stripped: Cena out with pec tear, must surrender WWE Championship Written: October 2, 2007 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – WWE Champion John Cena has suffered a complete tear of his right pectoral tendon and is heading into surgery, according to noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. Because of the seriousness of the injury, WWE officials will not allow Cena to compete this Sunday at No Mercy, and he will have no choice but to surrender the title. Dr. Andrews said Cena could miss between six and eight months of action. Cena was injured during his match Monday night on Raw with Mr. Kennedy. Before visiting Dr. Andrews, Cena had said, “No matter how serious, the injury, one way or another I’ll be ready to compete on Sunday.” But despite Cena’s vow, WWE officials will not allow him to compete at No Mercy. Therefore, he must surrender the WWE Championship. WWE officials vow that there will be a WWE Championship Match this Sunday at No Mercy and that there will be a new WWE Champion. Stay with WWE.com for further updates on Cena’s condition and on No Mercy as they become available. www.wwe.com/shows/raw/articles/5267524/cenainjuryupdate
