Ha. I remember this. Fresh-faced young Kurt.
When he cut that promo at the end I remember thinking like he's going to go far.

It seems just WAY too weird to hear that music without the You Sucks.

Man, he used to be scrawny.
It looks so.... weird, him having hair.

Amazing what steroids can do for your build.

The hair really helped with the gimmick, I still miss the hair, I'd rather have balding Kurt over bald Kurt, at least he could play it off well.

Very VERY good match especially for a first one.
Him getting on the mic just shows how good he is whether it was planned or not.
I like how Stasiak did an F5

You can tell they were deliberately shoving him down our throats. They knew that no one cheers for a guy like that, so why not make him a cocky heel?

Good thing Angle is unbelievably talented
Or else that whole thing could have gotten really annoying

November '99, height of the attitude era - no one has any patience for wrestling.
You can't argue with the success of the company around this time, but it's obvious that that extra audience was casual, temporary, into the latest "thing", and had no interest in wrestling. It was an audience that could never have been maintained.

Him on the mic, I will admit, reminded me a LOT of Santino.
Maybe Santino has potential.

I've always had massive respect for Angle after this match. I hope every single oen of those fans felt like idiots when they realised what a talent he was, and saw him shoot up the ranks within the WWF.

You know, screaming "Boring" within ten seconds of the match starting means you're probably inbred.

No, I don't see why they should, the guy was a heel and they were booing him, nothing wrong with that at all. It's not as if they knew Kurt was going to be as good as he was.

Wow, pretty good debut. That was definitely a different Kurt Angle back then. I'm pretty sure he had a HeAT match before this.
